no! thats another 1k fitted!
would totally transform the car though, every says its there best mod!
OMG - i'd love to be able to respond to the VRX thread........
2k for a piston ha ha ha ha
2k for a gear box more like £50 and an afternoon with spanners.......i'm sure it wouldn't be the same with the corsa?
but its OK if your corsa lets go, cos its only £600
hey hey Lamps ere (dans bro)
As everyone has pretty much said sod the vxrs they look nice but they havent got anything on a tuned 5.
Id sell the vxr get yourself a decent 5 (im selling mine soon) as im taking on a project with a new 5 shell im asking 2800 and thats inc rebuilt engine, gt2056r turbo + **** loads more its all in my bio.
Then id use the rest of ur money to consolidate debts
i also now a chap with a mint green corsa C with the vxr engine in he live right by me only a young chap, and speaking to him yesterday hes selling it. if your on about the same guy hes got a private plate.
gota be the same as i wouldnt have thort there was many of these around, big vxr brakes on the front still got drums on the back.
Hes after 4.5/5 k for it bargain i thort.
where abouts you from matt that lad lives not far from your way just past langley on a corner its defo the same car he goes out with my mates sister, but thats not the car im on about thats only standard i think, his gf's brother had one that he converted was an animal when i drove it
i live in smethwick by the londonderry pub by west smethwick park which is also by the post office.
He's names Mitchell i was with him the other day at his garage defo got a vxr astra engine in and hes due to replace the gearbox as its got a huge crack in it from a big pot hole which he booted it over then hes gettin rid.
his older brother as a corsa b turbo conversion.
The corsa C is very nice tho if he was interested in some kinda swap and cash id have it.
since october the 20th but didnt start driving it till the 16th of november cus i was waiting for my other years no claims to come through.
I remember the dates better than the anniversary of me an the missus.lol
good stuff.. so wers this five you want is it for sale on somwhere throw up a link if ya can so we can see...
£1800 bargain for that spec with the t28 turbo on it alot more fun to drive than ur corsa i bet.
couple of my mates had corsa vxr's, one of them still has it, other one got shot as it spend more time in vauxhall than on the road, had umpteen rear wheel bearings and ended up getting a fiesta st...
astra vxr's are pretty awesome on the other hand, out the box they are pretty nippy, and have potential, but like all new cars, they have new 'safe' car syndrome where they are so full of electrics, airbags and crap the power to weight is still pretty pants
couldnt agree more about there reliabilty there is 2 vxr corsas at my work the ones been ok but the other has had to change his as the rear wheel bearing went first then something else.
he still hasnt learnt as hes just ad the limeyed edition red one.
Just been reading that thread, pissed myself laughing over and over again, they ain't got a clue, one even said 600quid for a piston a corsa vxr and off it goes, then said 2k to build an engine for a R5, feck me it ain't that exspensive, you can buy an old R5 GTT engine for 350quid (if ya know the right place ) a set of pistons, rings, liners and seals for 200quid, bottom end gasket set 30quid, head gasket set 45quid and a couple of days putting it together, I work that out at 625quid lol for 25quid more you've built a whole R5 engine where as 600 repairs the damage a fecked piston casuses in a vxr lol lol lol lol lol I can't help but laught lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol
been looking at a few 172's, these would make a good daily /driver track car?
fun but my old 106 xsi (which i put a 1.6 gti lump in) used to anhiliate the 172's....therefore so would a 5 hands down they are more reliable but other than that they are ****.
and before anyone asks, yes ive drove one (quite a fair bit done to it also), yes my old man used to own a 182 and yes ive beaten more than 1 172 in a 106
