I've been talking about these for long enough, so it was about time I got to work!!
I have made a jig to allow the production of some stiff rear engine mounts. I don't really need to tell you the benefits of stiffening the engine up, because if you don't know how that helps then you probably don't need one! In short though: improved control in hard launching and between gears. Reduced gear lever movement also. The downside will be an increase in vibration and noise, so probably not for cars that spend most of their time on the road.
The mount is very similar to the ones I've done in the past for select folks only instead of the uber expensive uprated VW mounts they instead use a common but hugely uprated rubber mount from a landrover V8. Pro's are that they're cheap to buy and replace in the future. Cons are that they are not as shiney
Some pics attached. They bolt right into the normal location without the need to modify a thing.
If you want one then let me know, I'll just make them as people want them. Some of the steel is a bit on the steep side and they take a good hour to make each one so they need to be £40 + £4.00 recorded p&p.
