ok my friend has a clio with a c1j turbo engine in it.
Its almost ready for mot, but hes wondering where he stands with regards to the turbo engine being sat in it.
The car original was a 1.4 and had a cat.

It will be fine. Emissions are checked on engine age, so anything under 3.5% co is a pass, no cat req.
If its not declared on the logbook they can manually input the info on the system.
I even took my van for test when the logbook was still reg as diesel, raised a few eyebrows for sure & caused a fair headache with the emissions![]()
The emisions wil be determined buy the year of the engine. So non cat test. CO 3.5%
this worries me a bit.. as my 205 gti6 (previously the engine had no cat, however now i have the gti6 in it it should technically have a cat however i removed it..
Does this means its likely going to fail on emissions.

My clio has the c1j engine in it.
Went through an MOT no probs ....well it had a massive oil leak ..they sorted it for me ..i explained it was a pre-cat engine that was in it and they put it through a MOT.
Just be nice to the MOT tester![]()
