    Turbo Heat Sheild jackets

Im after a heat Sheild jacket but can only find them for t3 and t4. Ive got a small turbo on the colt a TF035 which i guess to be the size of a t2.

Also Im gunna use some heat wrap on my manifold and downpipe, zaust etc. i like the idea of yellow wrap but will this just get really dirty really quick and not wash off?

Do you get much benefit from a turbo jacket?

Is that specifically for a t2? or does one size fit all?

I don't know if the T28 size will be too big but this looks good if pricey?

    i spoke to camcoat today,
they quoted me £50 +vat to coat the turbo exhaust housing.
they use a ceramic insulating material to stop the heat leaving the metal.
recons theres a 50% reduction in transfer to the ambient air.
and at that price its cheaper and easier than a jacket.
only thing is it takes 2 weeks to do it.

I read a big article in Performance Ford about ceramic coating.
They done a before and after on a Cosworth manifold and the EGT's were much better, the under bonnet temps were right down too.

I'd love to have it done on my car

Did you ask about the Exh manifold and downpipe too? I'd be interested in this if the price was right...

Mate i'm getting the manifold, turbine housing and downpipe done for £200+vat.

But mine is a log manifold so not sure how much more the tubular one on a 5 turbo will be.

I was looking at getting the DEI titanium heatwrap and turbo blanket and this actually works out cheaper.

    Re: Turbo Heat Sheild jackets

    he quoted me £250+vat for
cosssie 2wd 2part ex manifold, (inside and out, outside gets 2 coats, the ceramic then the satin black, inside just gets a ceramic coat)
turbine housing, outside only, again 2 coats
downpipe (3"x3 foot long) inside and out, same as manifold
    http://www.camcoat.com/main/thermal-barriers-2

and about £100 for the thermal dispersing coat, on the inlet manifold (2 part cossie inlet)
    http://www.camcoat.com/main/thermal-dispersants/

and they say not to wrap it up aswell, so saves money, work, and a crappy material in the engine bay.
