    Back from Pod 11th

Just got back from pod and the last time this year. Weekend was good, weather really good, the car was average as id expected. Improved my 60fts down in the 1.7s, 1.76 my lowest and with pretty good consistency.. Got me pb of a 12.1 but only 110mph trap on that run.. best trap of weekend was 113... so cars down on power big time.. feels so flat in 4th but my fueling set up isnt the best and im using the nos fogger as a 5th injector.. but thats last event ill be using a carb unsure what to do next exactly..

    Re: Back from Pod 11th

Good to speak to you again Rob, i was down 3mph from the last time i raced. There was a little head wind going on.
I managed a pb too,13.2@103 even though my 60 was a tenth off.I think i can go 13.0s with a little more work.
Massive thanks to Turbo ted for the jet for my brothers car.

    Great day for me

my 182 gearbox worked well no more drive shaft problems and bogging down of the line but my 60ft times and quarter mile times are the same but my trap speed is down to 107 used to run 110 on the 5 gearbox in better conditions thats it for this year for me at pod hope to see the same members again and more members aswell for more drag racing fun and games

    Re: Back from Pod 11th

ted, there's a lot of difference between the 182 ratio's and the gtt, it might explain the difference in your trap. what rpm in 4th did you trap at ? it'll have been higher than before, maybe too high for your engine's torque curve now.

rob, 1.7's, awsome mate, I honestly didn't think that would happen without the "top-secret" chassis alterations well done. why do you think trap was down ?

    Re: Back from Pod 11th

Scoff, ye im pleased with 60fts, that was without the gas too in first, does feel like i have more control, maybe the gas was lighting them up before... Im prob at the limit of the std mounts etc etc.. As for the power loss im unsure, fuel logs seem ok.. ive trap at 115 with this ratio combo before.. car just felt poor on the top.... I know tho that if i went EFI c1j and use direct port nos i could control double the amount of gas i normaly use....

I hear there are advantages of direct port, I don't know what they are without reading up.

did you re check your ignition timing in your ECU with the strobe before you did the runs ? I remember you were having issues with the adaptronic seemingly forgetting its trigger settings.

I checked before i went, hadnt changed since last event, but not after each run. But i need to have a good look in to this over winter (if i keep this lump).. Going have a good think over next few weeks what to do next and also a visit to a weigh bridge.

    Re: Back from Pod 11th

rob, personally I think you'd love cracking on with the 16v engine, but I expect (like me) your kinda curious how much power you will be able to make without that silly 'restrictor' thats bolted on top of your inlet manifold !! so either way, it'll be interesting. I'd almost be tempted to finnish off your EFI on the C1J, prove that it works and then sell on the whole engine with ECU and map at the end of next season, it'll fund a 16v engine.

ted, sounds about right, as rob says also, you just might not be making enough torque up at 6500rpm to make use of those ratio's, maybe you aught to work on making the engine rev. cam timing plays a big part here.

dave, that's incredible, your knocking on the door of stuart clark power levels with 121mph. you just keep getting quicker and quicker, and at a better pace than I ever progressed.

looks like you need to focus on the 60' then, if you'd like talk chassis setup and tyres then drop me a pm sometime.

if you want me to update the 1/4m list then send me the details over.
