just wondered if the club still holds a pod day??
just wondered if the club still holds a pod day??
Yes .
Exclusive hire ... Friday May 21st
Good good, gives me a target to get the cars done for then.
jolly good! just its not on the pod site!better get out in the cold and start putting my 5 back together!
cool, i hope to have my car in a good working order for then to try out a few things.
also thinking of trying out a spare gearbox with a welded input shaft and diff, to see what difference it makes on the 1/4
only thing is i wanna drive the car up there and home, as thats a good part for the day, if in a convoy
but i dont want to fit that box 1st and drive there with it on (chances are i will break it there anyway, 400+ bhp and l/c will do that, might even try getting some slicks to) , so unless some1 local is going in a van full of tools and lets me chuck some stuff in, either i got to tow it, or leave that idea out.
21st may, might be abit tight but I should have the 5 sorted for its first proper pod run in 2 years, time for my PB to fall
Hope to make this yet again with the civic. Its a brilliant day to get easy unlimited access to the track, ideal for testing. Just hope it doesnt break the week before on our 2nd hks round...
I was chatting with andy speck yesterday (fast tigra, TOTB regular, etc). He's comming to our day to trial his new engine and management.
Whats the cost to enter and run?
God I feel small when you start talking about gettin into the 9's, I'm hoping to get into the low 13's possibly high 12's
I cant make it, baby due and exams to sit
Cant wait
This time I'll be raping my own car all day long ...target sqm of 13 -13.5secs
i should be there, hopefully get more than 1/2 a run for my money thing time
As some of you prob know by now Santa Pod now let passengers ride down the strip for the extra £10 fee, passenger must sign on like a driver etc but for the £10 get as many rides as they like all day in whatever car... Road legal cars only tho.. so that rules hot rides in scoffs 5 out the window as i very much dout he would put treads on ... But will the same Passenger ride option be at our PRIVATE RTOC day...
Nope dont think so... which is a shame... road tyres only so not as thrilling... mind you if speck comes along think hes ran a 10.7 on treads....
Ill be bringing a spare seat (if needed) and some good tyres then
mark, specky's road tyres are M/T ET streets, so a cut slick, the same as santi gianni. They're passable in TOTB, not actually UK road legal though, so debatable if pod staff will allow passanger runs with them or not.
Yeah 10.74 @ 136 on treads.... and ran a 10.50 @ 137mph on slicks...
Its the blue Vaux Tigra, im sure you have seen it...
Thats very true Scoff i was thinking same...
Ah i see, yeah i know thet tyres now. I remember looking at James Willdays RX7 the year he competed in TOTB, he was running a set. They are pretty much slicks with some grooves cut in them. Thats the thing might be worth them defining what road legal means, if its cars with tax and ticket or wheels they use.
Ah yeah i know the Tigra now Rob, that will be interesting to see if he's popping along
I have a passenger seat if people want a run out in mine it's fine by me just ask.
I've never had the car at pod before and hope it/I'm ready lol
not on every run no. but dont mind taking people out. thats if any1 wants to get in the car with me lol
I will aim for this day too
Get in some thing too look forward too
I'll have to save the 11sec ticket for this day then.
Sounds like a plan....
Are there any stalls?
I have shed loads of 5GT stuff that I need to shift (some of you have seen it)
Can I bring van load and set up a stall?
Just need to get rid...
You can put a stall up
I have a big shoot on so doubt I can come. But I got mallory booked off.
The day has been booked off from work so im in!

Last year pod did agree to put us on the website & pod calander's....wernt sure if it was an extra cost tho...
But this year it hasn't happened, i very much doubt it will effect the attendance, nor will make any difference to a great day for the club and its member's.
santi did 11.1 on full drag slicks not on et streets and i took a car for mot last week with mt et streets and it pass ok so are they road legal or not ?
You sure Glen? either way they guy ran not exactly a ground breaking 60ft, 1.97, if it was a 1.7 (like you should get with a decent drag tyre) he would have seen a 10second pass fact.. also if he was on a proper drag tyre and trying to push who goes fitting drag tyres to 15inch rims (which he had on)... with a 13" combo it would shift in to 10s... Good Walls rule 60s
Ps looking forward to see your new build this year
Looking forward to this. Hoping to pull a 12 sec in the van
I reckon I could pull a 12...hmm...
