    old lap top

im after getting an older lap top that has a serial port connection so i can plug it in to my ecu.
as my 1 only has usb conections

can any 1 suggest a make and model as im not that clued up tbh

or does any 1 have 1 for sale?

dont want it for anything other than to be able to hook it up to the ecu, long as it turns on and will take the software

They list other CF-27s with a dvd drive ,that one above only has a floppy drive .I'd go for the cd version ,it's only £30 more and open to offers as well

Oh dear. There will probably (read: hopefully), be a suite of model-specific drivers on the panasonic website. You'll need to download and install them as the first port of call. If that's available (if not from Panasonic then search the web), that should sort most of your initial problems. If not, you'll need to search for generic USB drivers. Google is your friend.

    Re: old lap top

Depending on the model/win this should help .You need to register .It didn't support mine though, cf27r .......but there are other cf27 listed
I can't remember whether I had to do this for mine or whether it just worked but I'm on win2000pro anyway .
