My r5 keeps having a massive judder when on any power, no wheels are loose and i cant see anything obvious. Its very random and seems to rectify itself a few seconds later, when rolling there is no judder it is only on load, it does not feel like an engine judder/missfire, more like a wheel loose.
Any ideas, ive checked quickly for play and found nothing.
the problem rectifys itself and then reoccurs at another random time.
it always seems to be on dualcarrigeway / smooth straight driving.
Have you checked one of the engine mounts has not broken?
check your bottom ball joints, the bolts that hold the wishbones on and the rear engine mount.
I'd start with the bolts on the wishbones, I'd snapped 1 of mine in half, made proper nasty judder
engine mounts all seem sound, first thing i checked, ball joint is a possibiltiy as one has been knocking for a while and ive neglected to change it..
As for wishbone bolts, you mean they just sheer in half > ?
they shouldn't but mine did get alot of abuse including lots of hard launches plus it did get left loose once and i didn't realise for a long time so it got alot of unesscery stress
have u got the roll pin in the o/s driveshaft?
i know i had a hell of a judder as i ran mine without for ages, and it ended up wearing out the inner splines of the driveshaft!
get under the car and give it a wiggle where the inner CV goes onto the spines on the box
id say driveshaft, nip over mine when you can and take me round the block and i will tell you whether it felt like mine did, and yes mine did sort itself out and then it would come back again
just a thought if this is a knackered driveshaft how to i tell exactly, in what way to i pull on the drive shaft to check for play?

if there is a lot of play, then inner splines could be worn, i also found that because mine is quite low, the shaft spider bits had worn away at the inner cv so it clonked and knocked as it went round
i have a simmilar problem at the minute. would have been a nytmare to explain as its a strange problem lol.
ive just looked at my bottom ball joints as ive replaced them recently.
ive got one side bolted on with the original bolt. and i replaced the other side with another bolt as the original messed up.
it looks as if that bolt isnt holding it together that great.
dont suppouse anyone has the part number for the nut and bolt? would be much appreciated.

I may swap my ball joint aswell as i just so happen to have one kicking about.
Anybody remember to torque for the ball joint bolts.
I will check my driveshaft for play at the same time.
Are driveshaft replacements generally a motorfactors spec item.
just to add ive always had a clunk when pulling off with my car, thinking about it this may also be the driveshaft im guessing.
Ive got the same problem as this. Clonking when pulling away is likely to be driveshaft was on mine. I changed the driveshaft over on mine due to the juddering and it stopped the clonk but not the judder!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like worn driveshafts, ill bet the inner cv/tripod bearings are worn.
Get the car up on axle stands securely, run it in gear & have a look.
