    inlet manifold/carb water system bypass

is there any issues that could occur if i bypass the inlet manifold/carb water system?

inlet manifold is leaking from a core plug on the side, can i temporarily bypass the whole lot (inlet manifold/carb) so i can get it MOT'd and drive it, or will it give me trouble?

Bypassing the manifold will cause you no prob's, but I'd personally still retain the pipes going to the carb base. The water will help cool the carb on a hot day (stuck in traffic or whatever), and help keep it at an ideal temp' for good atomisation on cold Winter days.

i'll have a fiddle after work, so just run the carb off the waterpump but bypass the manifold jacket and it'll be just dandy?

Instead of plumbing the 'inlet' water pipe into the manifold, simply attach it to the carb base instead (obviously removing the other manifold to carb base pipe in the process).

I have done both sides in situ before, but it works better if you can take the inlet off and work on it. Are you going to ND09? If so I will bring them along.
