    Water pump

Headgasket is underway, should i change the water pump?
Heard that if water & oil mix it ruins them.

    Re: Water pump

Just flush the system out thoroughly, so you get all the emulsion out. The pump will be fine. If you like, you can remove the pump and separate the two halves and give it a good clean up to be sure. But it's not really worth the effort unless the cooling system is very clogged with emulsion.

I'm probably too much of a perfectionist but I would change the pump if it was all off.

At the end of the day the 5's rely on a good water system for cooling
