    valve clearance qestions

ok i know the valve clearance is 0.20 inlet 0.25exhaust

car hasn't run since 10pm last night so stone cold

also am i right by saying the valves go

    in - out - out - in- in - out - out - in

and is there a article as i looked but didn't seem to find anything, i know its straight forward but what to get it right as i haven't adjusted clearances in ages

    please correct me if wrong

    cam cover off of course

then turn the crank till i get tdc on piston 1 and with the cam lobe down with valve closed, adjust and then do exhaust one
then move to cyl 3 turn the crank and repeat as above, the to cyl 2 then 4
then should i recheck the clearances making the adjustments as needed or should they be set good first time

no, look at how the manifolds bolt to the head and it becomes obvious.

    Re: valve clearance qestions

inlet valves are in line with inlet manifold and out let valves are in line with outlet manifold no 1 is at flywheel and no 8 at water pump end.
when no 8 is fully compressed adjust no 1
no 7 compressed adjust no 2
no 6 compressed adjust no 3
no 5 compressed adjust no 4
    inlet valves 0.20mm
    outlet valves 0.25 mm
    thought this may help

    'rule of 9'

    7+2 = 9
    6+3 = 9
    9+0 = 9

I'm sure you can work the rest out

0.15mm inlet 0.20mm Exhaust is a better clearance, Most set them to that too.
