    head bolts

my cars engine is starting to come together now.

tried to take the water pump of earlier to replace it and all the heads came of the nuts lol. so ended up takin the head off. managed to get the pump of and then the threads by heating them up.

the middle part of the gasket must have been failing as there was limescale in the middle of the pump.

now i need to get some new head bolts. but i dont get paid till friday. so i cant order any. has anyone got any ideas as to where i could go and get some 12.9s from on friday?

    cheers

sod fitting the std 8.8 type again, ive fitted 12.9 bolts to fit my waterpump on. they just look like smaller 12.9 headbolts no worries of them snapping as easy either.
should only be a couple of quid from your local fasterners shop.

    Yes.

tom t- if you need the head bolts try searching in your area for Cromwell tools. If you haven't got one near you then 'google is your freind', ive just done a quick 30sec search and found these-

You know it Martski, M10 x 100 they are indeed

I dont think there is a Cromwell near you tom, ive just looked at thier catalouge, but most hardware shops, engineering supplies, motor factors or diy places should have them, very standard size of bolt.
Even B& 'robbing fecking barstewards' Q sell them, but you'll pay four times the price of a fastener suppliers if you do.

Of course if your really struggling you could order them from the club shop and ask ShopBoy nicely to process your order quick smart
