do you not just press the green or red tab IN (toward the black pipes) whiles pulling them off the sender ? like you would with nylon quick connects.
try pushing the black pipe in towards the green / red arrow (i.e. the opposite way to pulling it off) then slide the sleeve back the other way to relase the connector.
I'm pulling and prodding but it all seems tight. Still, the manual shows how to do it
bugger it, I can't get it apart, and it's starting to look a bit second hand now
maybe the collar is stuck fast, does plenty of wd40 not free it up ?
its all about the MOT1265!!
Andy, on that green connector nearest the camera, there should be a tiny little tang sticking through the black connector, i think on each side of the plug, that you have to push in and pull the connector of at once. I used to use a little watch screw driver or something of that nature.
On the green one (if im right as it looks similier to some porsches) normaly there is a half moon ring that sits in that gap showing, u remove this and push the inner sleave towards the tank till the couple mm gap is closed and it will then pull the whole thing back... Im so ****e at explaining... red one i aint a clue from the pic...
Maybe totally wrong but they look like compression fittings .You need to close up the gap on the outer retainer and then pull the pipe out .....Maybe ....Like Rob says but just pull the pipe back .
i think u sqeeze them like u would a childproof cap(deform in 2 places)they look the same as a clio fuel filter!??
Andrew
Where the black pipe goes in there is a black round bit at the bottom of the connector, push that black bit towards the coloured end whilst trying to pull the pipe off at the same time..
Do these all the time at work, they really are on there tight kist keep trying, pust that black bit up as hard as you can then pull the pipe off...
Good luck..
Just noticed ones black ones red, same idea thou.. push the round bits up closest to the pipe end, push them towards the sender unit and pull off at same time...
I've had a bit more luck, I found a union the same as the red one on the engine, with the bit in my hand I was able to work it out. The one on the engine was clear. Basically the low pressure ones (like the red return) are collets, you push the body towards the tank, then with a small pointy thing you push back the inner ring, then slide the whole lot back. Came apart very easily once I'd worked out how it worked. Unfortunately I could have just cut that one off, it's the green one I need to save.
andy you need a special pair of pliers to remove thos clips as i work for renault in oxfordshire and not far from you i can bring them along if you want ??? if your really stuck
thanks, I've just done it... nothing seems to move, but I pushed the pipe with pliers, and levered the body back with a small spanner - then a thicker spanner etc. so yeah, it works a bit like disconnecting an airline, but with more force, and less movement. I can imagine that the right pliers and a day at the Renault training center would make the job easy
glad you got the connectors apart, but having the right tools makes all the differance
can buy patten part pliers they come in a set of 3 for different types of connectors
Yeah i bought them, snap on ones i got are shi*, my boss bought 3 cheapies off ebay and they work a treat...

Also - Did that 172 fuel pump fit direct into your original slot or was there some modding involved..
i feel a youtube momment comming on

I was hoping to drop the whole unit into the tank, but the Twingo has a load of walls around the pump, so I'd need to cut them out. The latest plan is to disassemble both units and try and fit the 172 pump and regulator into the Twingo housing. I will unfortunately lose the 172 collector when I do that. At the moment I don't know what will fit where.
Andrew i have to say when those type of conector thgy wotzits were used on fuel fillters .(early slagooners) . we had to cut the pipe and fit differnt connector
your pdf file gave me the nightmare back again
