I've been looking into options for the management of my conversion.
Got it narrowed down to three.
1. DTA E48 EXP
2. Emerald K3
3. Adaptronic
I'll be using cable throttle and coil pack from a 172.
Just after some opinions on which is best, ease of use etc.
I'll be installing myself hopefully.

I've got Emerald on my VAG Clio & although i don't know anything about your other choices i have to say i think the Emerald K3 is fantastic!!
I've got Exhaust Gas Temperature sensing & switacble maps on my car (which i love as you can turn the boost/power down when your on the motorway saving fuel economy but simply turn it back up when you need to)
One of the best things about the Emerald is that for a fixed daily rate you can take your car back to Dave Walker (Mr Emerald) & he will set your car up on the rollers. He doesn't just put it on & set the map though, he really tries to help you with the whole day! (he made a throttle braket for my car as i had some janky cable tie arrangement going on)
All that said though Scoff on here is a Adaptronic guy & i'll be interested to hear if adaptronic does the same??
I gotta go with Big Steve - Raider, I've got an Emerald aswell and I love it, even my mate who has a 600bhp supra loves the Emerald and wishes he'd got 1 instead of the Link ECU

Any of the above will do the job in honesty. Unfortunately I don't have tuning experience with Emerald but I hear it's very good. DTA has a long standing reputation but unfortunately not the most intuative or easy to use software! (dtafast). Adaptronic is a great unit with more features than most. You get switchable maps, launch control, traction control, adaptive learning, dry nos control, it will talk to Innovate, techedge and a few other wideband systems and a whole stack of other stuff. It comes with a bare loom to wire up however you choose and can run a distributor or wasted spark. fuel control can be batch or sequenctial. There is also a healthy discount available for club members currently and a helpfull tech forum for users.

The Emerald does all that aswell Scoff, end of the day I dowt there's much of an advantage choosing 1 over the other, The only reason I went for Emerald is cus Dave Walker is based an hour from my house so if I have any probs he's only a quick drive to see the man himself
I'd go with one that you know someone knows inside out .Beware the little knowledge brigade .I had a nightmare with the Adaptronic 'Experts' until I persuaded Scoff to delve into the dark depths of the V6
End of the day they all do much the same thing if set up properly and it's not as easy as many of the retailers will have you believe .......................some have more bells, some more whistles but they all do the same thing .The main thing is to get the right person to set it up .
Think I'm swaying in the way of Adaptronic at the moment, plus its already running a couple of f4r turbo lumps.
I'll be in touch scoff when the funds are in place.

Ive been looking into Gotech ECUs they seem really good and decent prices.
I run the DTA, its spot on at what it does although maybe slightly basic compared to the Adaptronic... I've had mine a few years now and Its been great for what I've wanted!
I use the adaptronic and to me its a good unit, like said all the above is good to use. If your running the F4R lump tho seems the best option to go with the adaptronic as for sure there will be base maps at hand to get you rolling if your doing the work yourself.....
Can anyone make a recommendation as to what I should replace the mfi on my RS Turbo with?
Id ditch the whole thing for a fez RS EFI head, manis and ecu to start with... the head on Fez rs is different i beleave over the escort... your could prob modi the escort mfi head tho to house the manis etc some bolt hole doesnt match upOriginally Posted by tiff_lee

Thanks for the feedback though, someone else did the Fiesta setup on the RS forums only problem is getting the bits ebay costs a bomb so need to look elsewhere...
Im running the Adaptronic.Smashing bit of kit and seems to do what it says on the tin. You will have to ditch all the 3 pin reno ****e sensors though mate, and go for the bosch 2 pin equivalents etc for easiness.
my bro had DTA on his n/a corsa, was set up by jamsport which is miles away because no one local could do it.. then it was fine until it had a fit and forgot its map, had to have another complete mapping session
I had EX48 on my old Rover, good bit of kit for the money, it was the best option at the time as i knew someone with a base map & also Track n road were just an hour away. If i was going any route with a Renault lump i'd try Adaptronic i think, simply because there are base maps available, which can take a bit of the mapping costs out (plus you can test the lump). Emerald does have a very good rep as well though.
Junk it all and go for a zetec with l8 or pectal if you have the wedge
or you could just mess around with the control pressure and different injectors.
