Anyone seen a turbo bearing like this ?

I ended up with a spare 360deg bearing the other day. had a browse around and can't find any pictures of another one like it. looks to be made from brass (or smells like brass anyway). Same dimensions as a normal 360deg thrust bearing only the oil ways look uber simplified on this one, good thing or bad ? anyone seen one before ?

Thought I saw a 360 one that looked a lot like one of these on one of the recent 'I'm doing a DIY turbo rebuild' thread Chris. Can't remember who it was now. Clee? Had lots of good pics in it. Can't remember if it was part of an ebay turbo rebuild package.

I've never soon one like that. That's the most basic of designs, a stock 270 thrust looks just as good. Does it even have oil ways drilled into it?

With a T3 core, I suppose you'd be wasting your time with anything that's held down by the standard retatining spring.

yeah, no oil way drillings. wierd aint it. the collar that it came with looks fine though, just the bearing looks a little dubious

could be, sure isn't garrett. although the chinese 270deg I took out of my core originally looked quite good, no different to a garrett 270deg to the eye at least. no idea about materials. ofcourse, lots of different chinese turbo manufacturers these days.

I saw the bearing in Mark's turbo when I took it apart and the stock 270 thrust on the T4 Garrett copy he has looked pretty good quality, far superior to that thing.
