    ball joint

    replaced lower ball joint today,do i need to replace the other as
    a pair or does it not matter??

    I dont think you have too, but if you do then its done and you shouldnt have to worry about , are you going to have the tracking checked?

    that would only matter if i done the track rod ends i think??

    Its never often done after changing ball joints, but i did just because the tracker was handy, and found on some cars like Ford Escorts for instance it did put the tracking slightly out everynow and again?

    Yep track rods for tracking... ball joint you wont need to check... i tend to do things in pairs but one will be ok..

    thanks fellas,torqued all up,the old one was well shot,not to bad
    of a job though,the pivot/stub where the bolt goes through had slightly
    less metal at the top compared to old one,but i guess some parts
    differ from others,just didnt stick up as much,at a guess 5mm shorter,
    but its in there plenty.

    i always do tracking after fitting lower ball joints.i does not take much to throw the tracking off.
