    Rust!!

Now that ive got my handling, braking, and engine sorted its time to move on with the body work I set about removing all the trims to see what I could find mainly the bad spots I found was in the sill areas and quite amazed to find all the arches in really good condition Ive got my friend coming round to do the welding on saturday so I shall share the progress with you lot. with the picture of the sill with the fairly big hole in it do you think it would be ok just to cut the rot out and weld a section in as I dont really fancy having the whole sill replaced due to funds whats your opinons on how theses areas should be treated?thanks

    Re: Rust!!

I can't see a problem with doing that mate, to be honest its what i done with mine. Just make sure all the rotten metal is removed no matter how far it goes in and underseal all the new metal going in.

    Re: Rust!!

Mine was much worse than your's is. I had the rust cut out and plated up. Mine was on the inner sills too which wasn't too great.
Its a shame its gone up to your side decals

    Re: Rust!!

I think as long as all the rot is cut out and repaired, treated well I should be ok. Yeah one of the jacking points needs doing also.

Im also thing thinking about having the car re rustproofed at this place http://www.rustmaster.co.uk/ anyone used them, Id rather pay them to do it rather than me stuck under the car for days getting covered in sh*t.

Also does anyone still make up the side decals dont fancy paying £150+ for a set. would be cool to have a black set.
