    Rad wiring up in smoke!

Hi guys I fitted a new rad this weekend, nice easy job ran car up after all was well, thought I'd run her up until rad fan kicked in to check all was as before and is soon as rad was due to kick in the wiring going to the fan went up in smoke!!! and the rad fan didn't spin up , killed engine and disconnected batt straight away, now the wiring is knackard! All burnt and the rad connectors melted together!, any ideads why this could have happed and what to do next? I put everything back as it should be and didn't disturb the wiring. Prior to me changing the rad, the fan always worked perfectly. Reason I changed it was the old oil cooler had split so was mixing oil and Water. Really not sure what to do now! Lol

    Cheers guys

Andy, there's probably no fuse fitted in the fan circuit. It was recall by Renault, but the odd car will have slipped through the net. Check to see if your fan is seized or stiff? It should spin freely.

Here's the wiring diagram for the circuit.
