Members 1/4 mile times and conquests :)

    Hi Chaps.

I know there is a 1/4 mile leader board on the page but its not indepth enough for me, any members tell me of their quarter mile times and the mods they used to get those times?

Also, has anyone scalped any other higher performance machinery in their 5?type r's etc? I hate the word "street race" and I look back on my boy racer days in destain but I cant help have a race or two down a duel carriageway when someone fly's up behind me I've yet to have a race in my 5, but looking forward to having one.

Type Rs those are for dessert, any heavy 2.0 turbocharged cars are for main course and most BMWs for starters!

I remember back in 2005 at the Pod racing a guy in his brand new (at the time) M3 in my old white Renault extra van, he thought i was having a laugh racing it but when we crossed the line and i was still next to him he was shocked!

Remember his comment to this day 'I've just spent 35k on that BMW, what the f##k is in that!'
    I replied 'just a little 1.4 turbo, i spent £350 building it'

a well set up, 200hp R5 will take on most things up to & over the nat speed limit. I remember an Escort cosworth at pod being embarrassed by my old blue GTT. It also used to go by my mates sti V2 very easily
Best was my brothers old GTT & a cav turbo, as we went by you could lip read the passenger going 'fookin hell'

That's awesome! Nothing can beat the look of someone's face who for a 100% thought he was going to win. Not to mention VAG drivers though as they just get mad

I was once in a b18ft campus whist stationary next to a bran new audi TT 3.2 or whatever they are.

He was looking over and his passenger mouthed the words "bag of shit" to me

Silly boy............even with his 4wd I still nailed him then when we hit a long straight I opened the b18ft right up and he was a fair way behind, this was one of haz's old fives, was running the E cam a pulsar turbo and 22psi..........

At the next set of light his passenger wouldn't even look over at me

Personally for me I'm aiming for a 12 second QM with a very tight budget with the c1j, hopefully this year will be the one if it stays toghether

Well the other night I capped my first victim. A bmw e39 535i.

He was a car ahead of me at the lights, and once they changed he hammered it off down the duel carriageway, as soon as he did that the adrenaline kicked in so I had to go and get him. Once the car infront of me was out of the way I managed to catch the bmw, and then flew past him at the top of 4th gear like he was stood still(speedo isnt working but thats like 110mph I presume).

I love the little c1j engine

Traction is a major issue on in the damp conditions though. Obviously tires help, but im soon to go to standard wheels with the 185 tyre so thats not going to help matters.

On the roads, on a crisp, dry day in an otherwise OE GTT but running 15psi @ manifold:

From a rolling start at around 2500rpm in 2nd gear at circa 25mph, GTT's are an absolute beast to 80mph. So quick.

2nd and 3rd gear in these circumstances are massive, massive fun and let's face it, that's where it counts on the roads.

Maybe I am getting a little old but I can not see anything big or clever about doing 110mph on a public road. It's pure idiocy.

You can get them in all different sizes mate, they do them to fit 15" wheels and still fit under the arches
