I paid 230 for my bms downpipe, I was on the look out for so long and missed a few also that I just had to snap it up.

It was also from that chap called jure on here from Croatia. Think shipping was £20 on top.

I can't comment on power gains as I've not experienced the results myself.

But they go for so much money from what I've heard about them because of

    a) build quality

    B) allow far superior air flow of exhaust gases, as you lose basically all of the restriction over standard elbows

I did back to back rr runs with a standard downpipe and a bms downpipe.

my car with standard downpipe ranges over three runs from 201hp to 209 hp with the bms pipe it made 215 hp immediately with no other changes at all. I can't remember the tourq figures exactly but they were also an improvement.

So basically the more you tune the more gains you will get with a full 2 1/2 inch turbo back system, my exhaust is also a full 2 1/2 inch.

The brace is collection only which won't help, so maybe won't be so high for that in the end.

    That is ridiculous

Although I'm probably mostly annoyed because I was bidding on it and didn't win

I think Im Gonna take the approach of removing my elbow and downpipe, taking them to a fabricators and see if it can be done just combined......

Yes there is work in them, and you've got to buy the flanges, bungs etc....but a small quantity or batch made will make it worth the effort for the company and allow a profit on their labour charges........well Im convinced of it anyway.....

    The hunt continues

Worth what someone's willing to pay.
Think most of us expected at least £250. £315, well... supply and demand innit.

Me and Ben designed, tested and made the first few.

He made the jig and hand made them, laser cut flanges, mandrel bends then hand formed the elbow with a dolly from cut up mandrel bends, then tigged them up. His skill of hand and attention to detail is second to none and it took him HOURS for each one.

You get what you pay for, Ben was such a gent he refused to charge silly money despite huge demand and he made them in batches of 10.

    Boris = legend.

He's thinking of getting another 5 too, let's hope he gets back into the scene...

If you look at the difference in lag and your torque curves you'll see even more difference... But really nice to know those figures! Thanks for posting them up!

Yes! 400 rpm off spool up time forgot to mention this hence it made more torque sooner and made more torque overall. a noticeable difference whilst driving, turbo used to be in just a shade over 4.5k now it's in just over 4k 60 trim t28 .49 hotside Cossie cold side, .48 from memory.

400rpm off spool up to me is worth more than what i paid for mine that's for sure, if i ever met Boris he would definitely be getting a hand shake that's for sure

You can see from this vid looking at the standard boost gauge, the reading is taken from the carb top so will be slightly sooner than carb base but you get the idea.

I am the proud owner of a very expensive BMS pipe!!!a lot of money and 65 quid more than I wanted to pay but have wanted one for long while. trying to kill dreaded t28 lag. as said previously anything that is not made anymore is worth as much as anybody is willing to pay. I keep telling myself that anyway. and hopefully it will be same quality that iv seen on other cars. I let you all know when I get it. theres been to talk of fabbing these up on here for a while now but still not seen any definite sales going on. surely they can be made to this quality again?

As they are good quality, rare, and an obvious upgrade its well worth the money imo.

If you are looking to get the most out of your setup, and do all the regular upgrades then it makes sense to have the best components available - that's if you can get your hands on them
