    My winter project 5

    Howdy,

bought Andy bonds 5 today, he is gutted about selling it, but I will be updating this thread as I go.

Needs a bottom end rebuild..was gunna use it as a track car, but the shell is totally rot free... So I may end up using bajjer as the track car... I'm not sure yet!

    Any way a few pics

    Cheers

    Lee

Nice project to have! The more I see of them, the more I'd like a black 5! Just an idea but I believe Marky mark has got an f7p for sale.....?

Good luck with whatever path you choose fella!

Yes the bonnet is for sale, it is made from fibreglass so its very very light, but it does require some tlc/paint

    Re: My winter project 5

Had another morning on it over the weekend, she is up and running now ignore the boost hoses, they are just spares I had laying around.

Plan is, I'm selling my other 5, Bajjer, due to buying a house, so this will be my main 5 from now on. Black samcos planned. Already fitted my turbo technics s117 and one piece down pipe.

    More to come!

Some good work going on there is that some sort if instant gasket between the turbo to downpipe? If so would it withstand the heat. I'm not questioning you I'm more curious for my own needs . I've always liked the black 5 shame your selling it.

    Cheers buddy

The only reason I used the red gasket sealant is because I got the downpipe cheap, the seller told me he had probs with it blowing and the only solution was this stuff. It's good for 250c! .... So far no blowing issues

They are rear ph1 doorcards with another grafted onto the front.

Regarding the seats , they weight a chuffing ton. If you are tracking it , sell the complete interior and get a track focused light seat.

However , if not they are very comfy

    Looking good

is that 250c that's fine for sump sealant but not turbo / exhaust you need something that can withstand around 800- 1000c

I guessed as much James, it's all I had to hand, I just wanted to make sure the downpipe wasn't a total loss with it not sealing well for the previous owner. Will get some more hardcore stuff and a new gasket before it sees the road

I sold this 5 yesterday to my mate mentioned earlier in the thread....

This weekend I'm putting a t2 and standard downpipe on it, the wheels off my other 5 and that's that.

    THE END

They missed the fact that the AEI has been relocated behind the firewall. Shoddy knowitalls
