What is NEEDED to get car ready for RTUK Festival?

Thought I would start this thread as I know how useful it can be to get some help and assistance with ND (well RTUK Festival) only a week away. What issues or problems do you have (car related)? What parts do you required (I dont mean bigger turbo either!)? or just need hug?:

    • Romil Davda (Staines): Oil breather set up breathing very heavy. dont think its something I can fix before ND, so will just go on track as it is. Also need to get tracking done but no biggie.
Just over a week to go

Does strip down engine bay, put all new brackets on, sort out manifold core plug, re-wire dash, get through MOT.

And not here for Saturday afternoon/sunday this weekend as going to watch F1

    • If roll cage is a "show cage", you can save some time and pass... but knowing you, if you've started, you've got to finish... Mr OCD!
    • Washer for sump plug?
Dale - Have fun this weekend... I hear they have tickets available to buy at the gate!

Re: What is NEEDED to get car ready for RTUK Festival?

FFS! will we have any cars on track?!?!

Brigsy - No van? Did you get the box sorted?
TNT Andy - I need a hand putting up my tent
    Andy M - Battery sorted?

As for the rest, only 1 weekend to go...

I've been speaking to James5 and we recon I got an issue with the rings . I won't be going on track as if she fooks up on track, it may spoil it for others! I am picking up an engine on Saturday and will try and fit this on Sunday but need an engine crane and a new water pump (plus gaskets). Its a real long shot but I want to get on track. There is too much to do to the other white 5: Change wheels, tracking, petrol tank leaking, fit starter motor, fit carb, fit boost hoses, adjust boost, fit AFR gauge (once removed from other 5), do tappets, fit rear arch (but dont have screws/bolts),

Re: What is NEEDED to get car ready for RTUK Festival?

Well my cars been dropped at bodyshop just so i need/having done:

    Full respray.
Pick up wheels from powdercoaters the weekend.
Make seat mounts for new bucket seat.
Sort out air intake for fogs at work.
Pick up engine from marky mark and refit it all.
    Freshen up paint on rollcage.
Finish other dash and get that and all bits flocked.
Then what ever other little bobs need sorting/freshening up

So all in all a full rebuild within a week

Gonna be tight as! dont think il make to saturday hopefully il be at pod though. (Use the saturday to get all car together and sorted)

Just about the same state as last year for me HG has a leak as loosing water but still boosting but not spending anymore money onit untill this engine comes out and I will rebuild it and sell it on. Then Volvo lump will go in over winter. So no track action at blyton. But I may give it a shot up pod if it gets that far

Romil, just go for it! A couple of years back at Mallory, Tony drove his car there and back (3.5 hours each way) with melted piston AND he did the track day! Just get a big catch tank like Brigsy said and pour the oil back in when it fills up!

Plan on getting most of the jobs sorted this weekend + got half of next week off work to sort last minute issues too.

Good luck with your engine mayhem! Should have no problems changing it out in one day

I'm going to give it some stick, lets put it that way

I'm sticking to a bar of boost as we're not on race fuel and the temps. Plus its only the second outing in seven years!
