I've had a diamond back, not sure which one, Harrow Shedder, Harrow Master, full custom "Zimma" known as unbreakable frames and weigh nearly 4 stone and I actually still have a bmx now that I do actually ride along the sea front in the summer, and that's a GT Vertigo.

Well I bought a Chrome Haro Master with allsorts of trick bits white Skyways, Tioga Task force crank, Gt spinner headset MX brakes, cant remember the rest due to old age bought it off a mate way back in 1988 for £40 and thought I did well selling it on for £80.When I got a Yamaha DT50 from my 16th birthday many moons ago.. gutted years later that I didn't tuck it away as the bike looked the dogs...

Cool - thought it was just me having a mid life crisis (I'm only 35 but had a hard life!)

    Currently riding this

Far from old school but I love it! Is a diamondback alt2012 - bought it when I sold my R26 meg as was feeling sorry for myself - admittedly £750 (including mods) is possibly a bit steep for a BMX but its wicked! It's so light it's nuts! Just need to develop some bigger balls now like I had 20 years ago and ill be laughing!

The silly alloy twisted ones, yep.
I stuck some white plastic spoked wheels on after a while, the myth was, if they got buckled you put them in the freezer and they straightened themselves out....

Yep, just like that but pale blue, pads on the headset too, on the early bike it had a gusset in the frame, later bikes didn't.

    Re: Oldschool BMX'S

Its amazing now that even a make like diamond back now sell a complete with hidden headset, 25-9, 3pc crank etc... when a few years ago if you wanted a decent set up you had to build your own.
First bmx was an old villan where the seat stays came past the seat tube then into the top tube loved it snapped it welded it snapped it again
Then a thrillseeker that also snapped, then a fly pantera frame that survived now owned by a mate and my current daily is a felt sherif frame

i always thought that the commando was more of a mini grifter, as for the chopper, having had one as a kid i can say with experience that it was just friggin dangerous

Started riding in the late 90's so doubt you can class that as old school!

    Rode:
    GT/Prolite
    Hoffman George
DK General Lee (Still have it, what a bike)
Fit TRL 3, bought this 3 yrs ago thinking I would get back into BMX but cars have taken over unfortunately!
