    Oil gauge not working ??

    Guys
I have had the car parked up for a few days and now the oil gauge isn't working?!?

What should it read on starting ?
Is this normal? If not any idea what it might be?
    Thanks

Mine has got a life of its own just now as well...some days it works both on start up and while driving, then suddenly the whole thing packs up. Other days it doesn't even move a fraction. I guess it's another joy of 5 ownership

Sensor down the front on the engine on the back of the turbo oil feed hose, wires have come off or maybe melted, poor connection ?

Its on right hand side of block as you look at the car head on, not far from turbo oil feed connects to block, should have an orange wire i think, maybe loose or dirty causing bad connection
