Part 2 of qual'y on at midnight, then <6hr sleep before the race starts

Shaping up to be a(nother) good season. Sensible money would say Vettel again, but I don't know... Hamilton I reckon.

Shame Bernie never sorted a 20th race, or a return to Magny-Cours, but that's greed for ya

Sky F1 HD have all 19 races (and qualifying, practice sessions, etc) live...although they didn't for a while this morning whereas the beeb are only showing 9 races live this year (would've been 10, but for the aforementioned), but they still show extended highlights of the non-live races on the same day (usually a few hours after the race has finished).

Should be an interesting season and the last season of the 2.4 V8's.

It's seems that the Mercedes cars have some real speed in them where as McLaren seem to be struggling. My monies on Vettel again - excellent driver in the car designed by the best designer F1 has ever seen IMO.

It's gonna be a late one tonight for qualifying....

Sky F1 coverage all day long, i only watched the BBC programme today as i was out last night and didnt want to get up early. I don't know who the bloke is who commentates with Coulthard, being polite i cannot stand him!

Anyway, a more pressing question. Pinkham or Perry?

    Re: F1 Grand prix

The highlights are on BBC1 from 14:20 to 16:20 today. After that, beware that the result will be talked about on here. If you read this thread before having watched the programme then you only have yourself to blame if it spoils it for you. The same goes for the other races this season (i.e. as soon as BBC has shown it, live or not, that's the green light).

Incidentally, the BBC website always puts the winner in the headline whether they've shown the footage or not, it's an absolute joke. I don't have Sky and it catches me out a lot when I want to look at the other sport.

Amazing win for Chilton, I can't believe it.

And Vettal last, didn't see that one coming.

Actually I think this thread should be a free for all, it can be avoided, but then again I don't view the forum on live so I will go with the flow.

Yeah, it was agreed for the sake of those who see the Live window, amongst others, that the result would not be talked about until the BBC had broadcast.

Really good It was difficult to tell until right near the end who was actually going to win it. At one stage I thought Sutil might have been in with a chance!

    Re: F1 Grand prix

As usual I went to the BBC website this morning whilst still in bed to read about other sport (like to read comments on the home nations World Cup qualifiers and to see the tables etc), to find the result of F1 qually posted as a headline before they'd broadcast their highlights programme.

I could avoid the entire BBC website but that's a right PITA tbh (and sometimes I forget about the F1 when I've only just woken up), when instead they could just entitle the F1 article so that it doesn't actually have the result in the headline. It's not my fault they've lost the live broadcast rights to Sky.

    Grump. Lol.

You guys shouldn't give up your day jobs.

    What a race.

I hate Vettel even more now than ever but somehow after what he did today I have to have some begrudging respect for his ruthlessness in competition.

That was a shiver from Vettel, what a little toad! I wonder how Webber is going to react to that in future races?

As you say though, it shows how ruthless he is.

Obviously wrong - they had a prior agreement. It happened last year when Webber had the chance to win (British GP?) and he held back....

    Re: F1 Grand prix

I think that as far as respect for your team mate goes and considering how many times Webber has listened to team orders to Vettel's advantage he should of stayed where he was.

In reality he's a racer and he wants to win, he effectively came out and said as such and for that he gets my respect, i just wouldn't trust him with my mrs

    Re: F1 Grand prix

Not even grudging respect, he took advantage of another driver who wasn't in the race as it were. Surely the pleasure you get from winning is about the way you win not the winning itself and I think that is all he about. Call me old fashioned but that is a bit like punching someone in the back of the head as they turn away.

Good bit of theater though .It's good to see someone with a sense of ' ahh **** it 'now and again .
Didn't people used to get pissed off when blatant team orders were the norm ?
Prost ,Senna anyone ? nah somehow I think the good old days are long gone in the mists of corporate time .These days the slightest little incident is blown up into something of great import and evil deeds ....

I don't really care who crosses the line first, or how he goes about it. But if I was Webber I'd be fuming - gentlemans a agreement and all that. Or perhaps that's just naieve......

    It could be China interesting!

I don't respect his actions and he is a toad. I meant I was kind of stunned to a temporary standstill by the public unveiling of the fact that his win at all costs nature goes truly 'down to the core'.

Did you see Mark Webber flipping the bird at him! He's Aussie but I think he's ace. I wish he'd won a championship. I don't think he will though

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbb3tYcyRvw

The discord has set up the season brilliantly already, as has the situation at Mercedes. As mentioned, fantastic theatre. A return of genuine needle, rivalry and racing passion. I was enthralled today.

Piquet takes it a bit too far

Yeah, going to be quite a lot about maintaining position at the start for those on the 'wrong' tyre.
So are pirelli and their tyre choice having too much effect on the races?

Great race. Gutted for Webber. So they under-fuelled his car to begin with and then the best team in the pits didn't fit his wheel back on properly during that stop? Hmmmm.

Still, all that racing on the softs for Vettel at the end and not one extra point to show for it

Though I dislike him, he was quick. We'll never know if the mistakes he made in the last lap were due to hot-headedness or the tyres just starting to go off tho.

I like Vettel because he's a winner and real winners will piss off their counterpart if it means coming first or second. Plus he's got nothing to lose cos his team are too spineless to punish him lol. I do like Webber too and feel sorry for him cos he is a team player, where as Vettel is 100% in it for himself.

I love his arrogance, if everyone was all friendly and smiley it wouldn't be as much fun I reckon Arrogant aggressive drivers make F1 a great spectacle.

Another super race. Pirelli are really doing a great job with the tyres, although it must be frustrating for the drivers having worn out boots after 5 laps!

Looking forward to Bahrain, I have no idea who'll win.......?
