    Turbo comp seal

    Morning fellas
I removed the comp housing from my turbo to find the carbon seal between comp housing and core was split, there are two types of seal a dynamic and a carbon seal. Q1 can I use the dynamic seal? Q2 do I need to buy the complete refurb kit? The housing is stamped 1985 and is a t25 ar42. Soap

carbon seal turbo's use different collars so you'd need everything to convert it to dynamic seal. Carbon seal turbo's don't spin anywhere near as free either, they're old **** that isn't worth using unless your carb sits before the turbo.

    I just re-read your post. That's not a carbon seal, it's just kevlar/rubber mix o-ring.

Exactly, Mark. The vaccum draws oil from the dynamic seal on those two setups, its a poor design but its a route Renault chose. Soapy, give me a bell on 02085603927 Monday and I'll sort one out, I need to know if its defiantly t2 or t25 though as they're different sizes.
