    door pin help...

right, i replaced the pins on the door on my renault, and it hasnt sorted the door dropping problem, its the early type i believe with the roll pin, not torque drive, it seems the hinge on the body has worn away , is there a fix for this without having to cut and weld a new lot on, is there a new hinge kit out there etc?? any ideas...

    Re: door pin help...

Haven't got round to sorting my door hinges yet, but had the same issue when i fitted oe pins, doors still dropped. I have since purchased bigger roll pins of ebay made from stainless, will be a case of re-drilling both door and frame hinge to except larger pins.

Either drill out for bigger pins (8mm rings a bell?) or drill and shim the worn hinge on the shell. You could pmt jack the door up carefully to fix it too.

Shim it up mate.. fit another pin, but when you fit it take a peice of tin (coke can, ) and wrap the pin, its a delcate task and may take a few goes but it works.
