    Stinky car!

New poster! (less than 10 posts)

I know that cus the R5 GTT uses a carb it's gonna smell a bit petrol-ey but on tick over mine seems a bit excessive. Especially if I have the blowers on. Just wondering if this is normal for these or whether I need to start tweaking AFR.

Do you have an in-car boost controller in your car?

Only reason i ask is if you have then the vapour going through the pipework can fume the cabin out abit

Nope no in car boost controller, no blowing exhaust and no fuel leaks that I can see ( the fuel gauge does go down quick but I think that's my right foot). What I have found is that the crank breather is venting to atmosphere and the rocker breather has a hole in the elbow section. They're all oil rather than fuel though.

looks like a .49 tomcat exhaust housing, theyre a slight mismatch but do fit and seal, its best to get the faces cleaned with a gasket between or with a very slight smear of paste(better to use a gasket and no paste around the turbo tho) the breather fumes will contain a bit of petrol and do stink a bit. its probably a combination of a few smells

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll use my good Friday to look into this and also get the foglights working. I'll post if this sorts it out

also check that the ring holding the sender unit in place is fully screwed down
