    Car Batteries

Just looked at getting a new car battery for my 5 gt turbo, first place i looked was halfords. I'm not sure if its just me but what has happened to the price of batteries, its simply absurd! For a standard battery its £59.99 and heavy duty is £67.99!! Is there a better place to get batteries from and is it worth getting uprated ones? My car will stand for a few months at a time sometimes.
    Thx for any help.

I always get mine from a factor, last time I used Camberly Auto Factors who do a Valeo heavy duty one, I can't remember how much but I'm sure it was less than £50

Hi Dave Silverlake do them for £10 + Vat and they are tested. You just need to look for a 063.

    Cheers

    Re: Car Batteries

we have Energiser now, its Exide that we normally stock but have changed..

walk in and just say you had a price from somewhere well known and so long as you dont pluck a stupid price out of thin air they will beat/match it

say £30 and i bet they say ok the more you know the cheaper the price as they know your not a chump, tell them what battery you want, what you wanna pay and you might hit the bullseye.

Get them supplied from Uk batteries. They are ABS batteries. We did do varta but have stopped selling them now.

    Re: Car Batteries

I was wondering about this, as I paid £60 for a battery on my Pulsar a couple of months back (which is a UK spec Micra battery). And the place I got it from are usually dirt cheap.

    Re: Car Batteries

i run an 065 in mine for a bit of a bigger capacity for when it doesn't always start lol. an 065 will fit in the std tray with minor mods.

get a halfords trade card, battery prices will go down to half what you were quoted by them!
