    fueling problem??

right my mates gt turbo is having problems, its got the standard t2 turbo, group a fuel pump, new fuel regulator and filter, its running 8 psi standard boost ive fitted my afr meter to it and its reading 14 which is too high also when on boost its not dropping down its going up to 15/16 and the turbo is stalling! Fuel is getting though ok ive checked that also cleaned the carb out and cleaned the small fuel filter but its still doing it? I had the same problem with mine which turned out to be a badly built carb! This carb is standard and has been serviced 2 months ago. Any sugestions? Shouldnt need a bigger jet when running 8psi?
    Thanks guys.

any air leaks ?, maybe worth takign the carb off and putting a small amount of sealant aroudn the carb base incase its leaking slightly there.

also there is a small boost leak from the carb but that would just cause it to run richer anyway right? The leak is caused by the choke flap spindle.

    Re: fueling problem!

You say running lean at normal what do you mean by this?
    Idle/light or part throttle
Mines will quite happily sit in the 15/16s on light throttle
    Mid 14s at idle

From what I can gather from the above statement it may just
Be your wot that's the problem

But I could be way off the mark

    Re: fueling problem!

when its on my car its on 12.2 when boost kicks inn it drops to 11.5 it should go down because more fuel is chucked in on boost, Im sure anything over 13ish is lean 15/16 is very lean and can cause detonation!!

Normal as in not on boost just low rpm.

    Re: fueling problem!

is there any other components other than fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel regulator and carb jets that control fuel/air mixture??

its running a straight though exhaust and just a trumpet as the intake no filter, so its getting shat loads of air...its as if the fuels not getting inn quick enough?? sometimes it holds at 14 even in boost but never drops when on boost! we changed the fuel filter and regulator tonight and thats not done anything!

    Re: fueling problem!

If all these probs started after the carb was touched
Then there's a fair chance that's your prob

You idle and part don't need to be as rich as 12s
At wot I like to see low 12s

I'm no carb guru if I were you I'd strip and clean it for a start
Sort your air leak when your there
