    engine bay puzzle!

New poster! (less than 10 posts)

    hi,
i need some help! im not really sure, but i think i'm missing some vacuum hoses or something?
ive uploaded some pics, there are some nipples with nothing on on the turbo actuator, the carb top elbow and the carb itself. also, the choke cable wont stay attached. the clip is missing, and when i clip the cable end on to it, it seems to spin really easy? should there be some resistance or is this norm?

the bracket where your choke cable is cable tied onto looks extremley bent in that pic - looks like someone has leant on it! it should be at right angles to the carb

-the actuator port looks ok, many have this port open when running the cup mod.
-carb top should definetley be blocked off if not using it. think my oe boost gauge connects there

The carb top one should go to the oe boost gauge and the fuel pressure regulator. Follow your fuel pipe back and you'll see it down the drivers side turret.

Oh, and the choke cable clips are the same as the ones behind the dash. There's easy to grab ones behind the ash tray.
I think they're the same anyway?

nice one! ive had a dig around and found two hoses just flapping about doin nowt!
one was from the fuel regulator, and ive put it onto the carb elbow, but theres a t peice on it that goes to nowt now! lol!
also, ive found another hose, its under the carb, i think its into the manifold?
ill get some pics up and hopefully someone can help out!
theres some sort of connection thing thats on a hose between the actuator and carb elbow? any ideas what it is and what it does?

    cheers

    Re: engine bay puzzle!

Your first pic is just your bleed valve, this bleeds pressure off acting on your actuator and keeps your wastegate closed longer, upping your boost pressure, adjusting that valve will adjust your boost. dont over do it without knowing the fueling. the 3rd picture should have a little hose coming from your t piece to the brass accelerator jet below it. i cant remember what the manifold pipes are below im sure someone will help.

Just replace the vacum pipe ditch the bleed valve it's knackered anyway looking at it it's missing the adjuster so would over boost like that,

Yes it is that engine! Any idea why half the hoses aren't connected?
Also, who is it that's in love with the tie wraps! There everywhere lol!
I've sorted the fuel leak now, so hopefully I'll be firing her up soon.
Just wanting to check these loose ends out incase I end up ****ing something else up!

What do you mean by popped it? Hope your not talking about the head gasket! He told me it would be fine when the fuel leak is sorted and battery charged

    Re: engine bay puzzle!

Can anyone shed any light as to what the two ports are under the carb?
I thought they were for the crankcase and brake servo, but they're under those two?

unless the inlet manifold has been replaced, connect that up and you'll make a nice puddle
