You can't use over 100ron for competition, so can't really see the point in going to 102.
    Plus, it'll be bloody expensive.

but not everyone competes in competitions so would be nice for your everyday road users but as mentioned the costs maybe steep.

I knew someone would say that.... but where do you draw the line....? 105ron, 110ron, why don't they just release a 120ron?
You can already buy additive seperately (and thats all they are doing to their petrol, throwing in additives to boost the octane), or you can run methanol.... i just think for the "enthusiast" 97/100ron fuel is fine.

I can only imagine the price of this per ltr is going to be stupidly high. Ill stick to tesco's best 99 ron.

I don't agree with much of this statement.

Unless you're gonna run more ignition, and/or are the limit of boost det' threshold, then it's a waste of time.

Just to go slightly off topic i have a grievance with supermarket petrol. Its really rubbish!! When banging asdas and sainsburies in the m3, it would feel sluggish. Anyway i had this confirmed the other day by a garage that have had a load of diesels and petrol engine issues. It seems the supermarket fuel does not burn correctly in the chambers and the evidence is normally on one side of your spark plugs where its ran lean. Its also damaging cat converters and lamda sensors, as well as your using more of it as the ecu tries to compensate for the weak burn.

A classic case of its cheap for a reason.

My mates got the same sort of problem, he has a Mini Cooper S and always fills up at Tesco in Southend. His car had a problem it started and then died 5 seconds after and now last week failed its mot on emissions. He has taken back to the place who carried out all the engine work he has had done and they have found a trace of silicon in the petrol and its focked his lambda's and sports cat

Im sure i saw this stuff and it was around that price last year.
I had just driven around 400 miles in the dead of night and i was about 40 miles from home (tired), needed to fill up the car, pulled the nozzle out the pump about to fill up, then glanced at the price per litre, 'WTF!! Aye that will be chocolate!'. Thought i had driven 400years in time!!!

Advancing the ignition on the GTT and upping the boost is so easy and fruitful I'd say this latest fuel is a more than welcome addition depending on price.

The improvement in low down response from ign advance is worth it on its own.

    Who owns a 5GTT and isn't?

The more clever Jap cars turn them selves up anyway when they get better don't they?
