    fuel pump feed from tank?

I have run a 12mm fuel hose from the tank to the pump in the usual manner but being larger it seems to be getting crimped somewhere along the way. Is there any other way of running the feed with out having the pump in the boot? I may be putting the rear seats back in at some point so some solution that would not effect this would be best
What is the small hose that runs across the sender and tees off to the sender? as this is also getting in the way thanks in advance for any help guys

Gary, I managed to fit 12mm id pipe when I sued the cossie pipe in mine, the best way I found was to loosen the fuel tank bolts so you can get some more movement in the tank for the pipe to squeeze down and the other pipes with the T you tal about are part of the breather system

Cheers matey I have got it to the pump and all seems fine but when I rev it and let off quickly the fuel pressure dosnt rise quick enough and it dies so im thinking some kind of restriction. Cutting that small breather pipe and extending it may free it up a bit tho. Il try that first.

tbh i wouldn't of thought the fuel pressure would rise by just reving.. They r more constant fuel injected car.. What have u done to the return? Is that the same size?

Nothing has been done to the return. Im sure it used to rise a lot more than it does now but could be wrong The only difference is a rising rate adj reg and a 044 pump.

Re: fuel pump feed from tank?

how do i do that, Gauge before the injectors i guess? If i set to 3bar with just the pump running but engine not, when the engine is running it drops to just over 2bar, It used to drop less but the injectors being bigger now makes sense. In the volvo manual it says to have the fuel pressure set at 3.5bar at idle does this seem about right?

It does yes, but to set them on idle you would normally pull the vac hose i say this but i've only ever adjusted cossie ones, so it could b a load of bull on a volvo lump, i'm sure someone will put this right Haha

I would of thought that the standard volvo injector rail would have a shrader (spelling) fitted to it anyway, which is a great place to get the rail fp from

Re: fuel pump feed from tank?

now im after the fpr would be the pressure of the fuel returning to the tank the gauge on the fpr reads the pressure of fuel going to the injectors.

in that case just disconnect the vac pipe and adjust the fuel pressure to 3.5bar that shuld do the trick.

Not sure what it should b at idle, but i'd try doing it how i've said as with the new injectors more fuel will be going in.. So even 3.5 may b to much.. Cant u pm haz as he seems to be the man who no's about these volvo lumps..

Tbh scoff no's alot more than me.. But i would think it would prob give the same effect as disconnecting the vac pipe.. It's just i've always done it with the engine running..

Re: fuel pump feed from tank?

Im running the same adjustable regulator as you schwartz on my b18ft, i set mine at 3.5bar with the vac pipe off whilst the engine was running. Its fine on mine, although im running standard injectors with a 150 lph pump. I raised mine to 3.5bar so i get more fuel on boost, i think as standard it should be 3bar.
