    removing driveshaft

Right well it has come to removing the c1j engine from my clio and I have got a problem, The engine is nearly ready to lift out but I can`t at the moment as both driveshafts are holding it in.

I tried to remove the drivers side shaft with the pin in and had no luck. I had tried using normal punches and drill bits but to no luck. Is there another way that I could use to remove this without cutting the boot ?

An air chisel with a blunt bit in it, if you have access to air tools.

    Rich, don't cut the boot

You should be able to release the circlip/clip that holds the inner cv boot over the drive shaft, remove that and the drive shaft will seperate from the engine.

When you pull the engine out, it'll be easier to hammer out the pin for the smaller/cv boot section of the drive shaft.

    Hope that made sense...

Yea but this way you'll be able to pull the engine out and possibly find it easier to get into and removing the pin
