    t25 t28 difference

Could someone explain how to tell the two apart, is there any markings on the turbo, or extra blades.

    This in particular.

For basic info you need to find out the compressor A/R number and M numbers, and for the exhaust housing you need to find out the A/R number aswell.

If they are able to tell you the inducer and exducer sizes that would be good but prob pushing it.

Exhaust side is different shape, you can only get 3 bolts out of 5 on the elbow before the down pipe, this may only be on mine though......

you can see the part number so can investigate using that, but fundamentally a T28 compressor wheel will have a 60mm exducer.

I had this problem but was using a standard turbo elbow but when I got my big jim downpipe I was able to fit it correctly and stop it from blowing

from the part number 14411-44F01 google can tell you it's a T25 with an 8 blade 58 trim 52mm compressor wheel

    Re: t25 t28 difference

    from memory there are 3 types of Nissan 200 S13 - T25, S14 - T28, S15 - T28 RB?

Not 100% sure if thats right but just making the point that they didn't all run T28's Adam might be able to confirm this.

    Re: t25 t28 difference

That one in the picture is the 1.8 200sx turbo, a T25.

    CA18det (1.8) ran T25

there's a few variations on the SR20DET as they were used in a few different cars

Pulsar has the largest of them all, running a unique T28 turbine wheel and the .86 housing on the back.

S14/14a ran the usual spec T28 with the commonly used T25 turbine wheel and the .64 housing

The S15 (which are imports only) ran the rollerbearing ''GT28'', however it's actually a GT2560, not a GT28.

RB's ran some unusual turbine wheels, they vary from model to model but the R33 GTR ran T series oddly sized T28's and the R34 ran rollerbearing versions. don't quote me on that though, seems to have slipped my mind..

are any of the above a good upgrade for a reanult 5 adam? whats there boost limits im guessing around 15-16psi? is there a lot of work involved to convert them over? im thinking more the t25 sized ones?

    Re: t25 t28 difference

They've all got much too large exhaust housings to be honest, unless you've got something funky going on...

The rollerbearing would work a treat though, it did when I stuck one on Mart's old Raider. That's with reference to the above...

None of them are going to like high boost levels because they've probably come off a car that's been drifted or generally abused. Either way, I wouldn't run a stock turbo at much over 15 psi. It's not something that's going to blow up straight away but it's definatley not going to last the test of time.

An S14/14a T28 is what you want but with the Rover Tomcat exhaust housing, which is a direct swap. You could try it with the large .60 comp housing too, I never had problems.

The main problem would be sorting an actuator bracket.

Nitrous will help. They do use a large exhaust housing though, so it's hard for me to say, Pete.

    Re: t25 t28 difference

No, unless it's been machined for it. The Pulsar is the only car that used the that turbine wheel apart from the small turbo Escort Cosworth and the turbine housing that uses might pose a bit of a problem for a 5.

Don't mention the K20 engine to me, please

The shoddy turbo conversions they have are unreal, even from a ''high profile'' company like GReddy.

It gets worse when you give good advice and it's never taken.

It's not so much the power output, more reliability. GReddy's kit actually have the oil drain going to the sump plug...

One particular car keeps coming back to us, some Redline feature turd.

No word of a lie. In the customers words it was a £2k kit (I thought that's a rip off). They've spent £8k on it so far.

The oil physically can't drain off at that point so it blows it down the exhaust and out the inlet, and twice now, the engine has run intself dry. They've had the turbo rebuilt twice, Td04 and now they've brought me a GT2560 thinking it's going to fix the problem. I must have told them 4 times what the problem is, they just don't want to listen to you though

You do know we've refused people before, on quite a few occasions, purely down to the fact they're idiots. We'll actually tell that to their faces too, in a more polite way. It's really not worth the hassle.

The main cause of all this grief is the ''tuner'' located in Reading doing all the work. They really don't have a clue.
