    Pistons - Wossner

ok guys im dealing with wossner for internals for another club i run. however i come to you guys for your knowledge.

    The Mitsubishi Colt CZT.

    i have been given options

    75mm
    75.5mm
    76mm

This is the thickness? of the piston? liner?

Bigger thickness means stronger? less likely to melt? etc

    All help is appreciated.

Ps dont tell me too google as I want YOUR advice not some robot crap.

Ask them ......I would assume they are talking bore size not thickness/height .

I would ask them but unfortunatley Wossner have done a deal with a greek company to only supply them. Which means i have to buy from a 3rd parts for this specific application. Wossner have apologised but hey ho thats business.

If you have to go through someone else to get these pistons why not go some where else, c.p, je, arias wiseco etc will all sell you something if not better than what you are looking at now.

It's the bore size young Jedi... I suspect the 1st is standard, then over bore = engine out & machine the block to the manufacturers spec to allow for expansion etc.

Check other sources unless they are uber cheap as said above...

& larger piston = larger cc IIRC.

Ok but Wossner standard sized will be forged internals year ergo better than Stock and drop str8 in?

    If they say so ...
You really need to find out from them and then check against the engine spec etc .

    Kenobi,

they're bore sizes as stated mate. if it goes like Renault pistons they do, the first dia. is std and then it goes over bore.

the question is, do you really need forged internals? are you going to use mega boost or will you rev the engine beyond it's limits?

even if you're planning to do so, there are more things that'd need considering before pistons, such as conrods and valve train.

    hope this helps

Thanks mate, Yeah im running 1.1bar of boost 210bhp 200llbs torque. other have more.

it seems the lads with 230bhp onwards have clutch issues to be reolved before anything else.

    heres mine for those interested.

    Re: Pistons - Wossner

Some 'drop ins' work fine, others have been known to 'pick up' due to not enough room to expand when hot (prob more due to intercooling issues or det TBH though)
the bores should really be measured & cut to the pistons or manufacturers spec though IMO.
