The car was at a.s.s today, got a 3" outrolld back box
got the new bump strip on
got the turbines painted, got them done at romax top job
I do personally prefer the speedlines, but it still looks mint on the turbines !!!
Cheers mate car looks sweet yet again
The old girl is in my lockup to get a few jobs sorted at moment, exhaust manifold gasket, turbo upgrade etc.
Start with stripdown..
Tick tock
Bodywork is in awesome condition
i had to get mine done a few months ago, on boooost then pop!!!!
Haha Briggs you don't mess about mate! Goin straight for gold there! The manifold gasket has seen better days like, cheers for the pics keep us posted
Up to now i have done -
Inlet/exhaust manifold gasket & clean inlet up externally,
Fit new turbo/braided oil feed, hybrid t25 i think? Adam L special, Looks like a decent unit.
Fitted 2 1/4 downpipe with lambda bung & flowed cast elbow,
Adjust tappets, Fit chrome rocker cover & new gasket,
Rejet carb for 18 psi & refit(needs road testing to fine tune),
Fit braided oilcooler hoses to clear breadbin cooler,
Remove perc fan & associated wiring (all shot anyway),
Oil & filter change,
Fit capillary oil pressure/boost gauge, pipework into cockpit just need to fit gauges,
Fit various silicone hoses/alloy degas/headertank - Ongoing.
Sounds like a small job but i must have at least ten hours in already & not finished!
The engine bay didnt look like it had been touched for some time & needed a fair bit of maintenance despite running OK. The o.e water hoses were tired to say the least, most were shot & fell apart. Its slowly coming together though (no current pics as i forgot) will be finished at some point in next couple of days

All done just needs bonnet/grill fitting & fuelling check on road. As predicted the braided hoses leaked, i have flogged the fittings up & seems ok now but need to keep an eye on them!
Engine sounds sweet as a nut now with new manifold gasket & valve clearances set

Looking fresh as usual ben Needs that t25 reconditioning & fitting though
well.. bit of an update!
couple of months ago my water pump went and the head gasket went as well the head no longer had any meat on so was scrap. i bought a head off gtnutter also bought his engine that had been rebuilt by markey mark. my engine was due a rebuild so was an ideal opportunity really.
with the help from briggsy and scott my old engine came out
since then i have became a bit of a restoring peado
although the body work is in good condition the bay has never really been touched, as you can see the bay was a big dirtbag, subframe was coverd in oil as was everything else. its a good thing really because its worked well as its protected everything.
the box was manky aswell
gunk soon sorted the job out, with a bit of elbow greace as well
1 of 9 shades of tungy
powder coat o' clock! new bushes, ball joints and track rod ends.
few new goodies!
still waiting on parts off over a month ago now from cgb
got a few more things getting powder coated, hopefully have more progress soon, thanks for looking

quality stuff mate keep at it top work mate
That bay is going to look fantastic, I wish I had balls as big as yours to lift the engine out of mine and do those annoying little bits.
Cheers mate, Iv always wanted to restore the bay and have it gleaming! It would anoy me putting the engine in without cleaning stuff up lol, after having it out there was a few things that were nakerd, engine loom and other stuff didnt look good. I wish I had the balls to lift the engine out i needed the help from Briggs and Scott.
Nice car mate I like it
Top work chap, makes me really want a tungy as well.
Think i'll just wait 2 years and buy this one off you.
Benn looking good to finish that carb of you need to really get rid of the studs in the top and put some nice M6 stainless steel allen key headed bolts in there.
Loving the effort going into the car, keep up the top work
