I've thought about that, the 4 paddle Helix jobs I've had haven't slipped but they have destroyed the centre splines, mostly I think down to how hard they bite on take up, that also makes them horrible to use on the road. The Helix uses the same cover plate as the volvo 480T 200mm clutch so its not the cover thats the problem, its the material the friction plate is made from.
Excellent, just what I needed to know, now what about the ring gear for the starter? is it the same pattern? will the dowel in the starter need shifting?
