    would 2 1/4 exhaust restrict power compared to 2 1/2??

    As tittle says.. i was just wondering if wanting over 230 bhp... does having a 2 1/4 inch exhuast restrict your power when comparing to a 2 1/2???

    well.. i already have a 2. 1/2 downpipe.. but my exhaust is 2 1/4.

    im wondering if i should change it to 2. 1/2 but is it worth it?? hence why im asking if it makes much of a performance diff..

    Maybe on a big powerd car. A friend went from one to the other and we didn't see any time gains on the strip and that's running big power.

    isnt it more based on allowing the turbo to spool up quicker, ..

    hmm... i have no real performance issues... i also have a T28 but wondering if it would be a waste of money to get a slightly bigger exhaust.. and trouble too.. as it was trouble enuf making this one not rattle due to the car being quite low :P

    Unless its a sidey you'll have lots of trouble getting a 2 1/2" system on without it rattling against the torsion bar.

    I'd say stick with what you've got

    If it's performance you want. Ditch what you have, get a Boris or Jim crossover pipe and get a 2.5" sidey. It's not that expensive and you can't do it better than that (that I know of).

    problem is.. i dont really like the look of side exits.... so thats not an option.... im not desperate for performance increase.. merely interested if id get any gains compared to a 2 1/2 exhaust..

    whos borris and jim???

    To have no exhaust at all would be best for a turbo.. but with around the mentioned hp levels i wouldnt say its going to make a huge difference..

    i have this system at 2 1/2 now, but before i had a 2 1/4 and its made no differance to me for my santa pod times , but i will say its fits perfect over the rear axle and does no nock anywhere and on idle and part boost its quieter but i full boost at 30psi it goes crazy and off the clock

    Hello mate,, nice to see you online...

    Im in 2 minds at the moment (about something similar);

    My t28 turbo has a smaller rear housing on it (cant rememebr the size .35?? not sure) its from Adam, put it on to try reduce turbo lag..... im wondering whether to put my .49 back on as its got a bigger elbow that fits to it.. which doesnt fit this rear housing.... hmmm
