Whats all your plans for the cars/projects this year?
I'll start off, new cam belt, re-worked cooling system, re-worked turbo, bigger injectors and 300bhp!!
Break it, fix it, drive it & break it some more
need to get out in my freezing garage and strip then rebuild the engine in my track 5!!got all the bits except the new turbo!then need to sort out getting the body sprayed!!hopefuly ready for some track/pod action this year as did hardly any last year!
Finish putting it back together, get it mapped and go hassle some scoobies
Im doing the following:
- converting to the 2ltr aka F4R engine on throttle bodies
- once I have the engine in and running, it'll be stripped and resprayed with new panels galore
- all of the braking system/fuel lines will be overhauled
- once the body of the car is pretty much restored, I will be looking at tuning the engine further ie the cams, a bespoke manifold and exhaust system
My aim is to get this ALL completed within 6-8 months.
I will be starting a project thread as soon as I collect the 2ltr engine
Well with my 5 ive taken the screen out to sort that small scab of rust before scoff picks it off.. if i have time will swap my box before it goes pop also its got a leak.. Thats it for that... Cant wait for summer days and some boosting...
Well my plans are to complete red 5 for Pod Day, its 80% there just the annoying little jobs left on the engine bay then wiring. Fit all the interior bits then start it, map it then go thrash it at the Pod.
With the campus its already done, will do what ever needs doing to it throughout the year, do a few track days and maybe a few extra little tweeks
well i plan on getting it to germany an back without any trouble...
1st thing for me to do is get the fecking snip 4 kids is enough for anyone
With ref to 5 plans well need to put current c1j back together in next couple of weeks also going to build a high spec c1j this year.
No more engine conversions for me

i plan on
getting a decent air filter (ive never had 1 on the car in 3yrs) and routing it properly

make a heatshield for the fanny mould and turbo and a ram air box for the filter out of nimbus
new exhaust cam
new 750cc injectors
remap/live setup
and a bit of general tidying/painting/wiring
i hope to get this all done for the start of summer so i can go have some proper fun this year.
but i need to finish redoing my hallway and a bit more in the kitchen before i can start, and thats taking all my time and money for a while.
then more long term i plan on learning to weld so i can do some cutting and shutting
im gunna cut out the floor, baulkhead, turrets, and make my own.
later in the year im gunna show the m3 some love with a rerouted air filter, ditching the box,
electric rad fan conversion
remap.
I'd like to get started on Doris (low mileage campus ) but i have engine re-build to complete on my sunny 1.8zx, replace rear arches then enjoy, next is re-build on sunny gti's pulsar eng, onto my pulsar next, shell prep, cage fitment, steel arch extensions, fit centre-lock hubs and 9x18 magnesium rims then fit newly built engine from gti with gt4088r and try not to kill myself hopefully in amongst all that Doris will get a cage, coilovers, gt bumpers etc fitted, finish of 16v conversion and maybe fit the t28 that i'll have left over from the pulsar!
How's that for a plan?!!!!

More track days
Swap the carb over for a modified one/checj fuelling
Fix things as and when they break!
Get mine on the road!

Repair rear quarter and paint, Remove Windscreen and repair surround and paint, Repair Front Wing and paint, Change Turbo and oil pressure sender, Change Oil and filter and reset tappets. Think thats it!
Scooby will get a re-map later in the year.

Cup Car : Sell/Swap (already have a deal done) and get the replacement car out on the road..
Going to replace a few panels and spray engine bay up, while everything is out give it a good clean up and replace anything that's knackered. Funds allowing a new suspension set up and bigger blower

really hoping to get started on the efi conversion this year
failing that id be happy to sort the poor handling out
and make a few meets
not sure as to what yet from me.
playing with the idea of selling/stripping the hybrid R19 cab for parts and selling the R5. then bying a newer car for a bit of comfort to ge tto work and back...one that hopefully combines fun with reliability.
i was looking at a R26 F1.
if that doesnt matterialise ill be ripping the interior out the R19 roll caging it, dismantling the roof and rolling it at the nurburgring!
Whether it will happen or not i'll still list what i'd like to do with the 172 in 2010, i'm just hoping i can keep hold of it
Strip out and sell the interior
Would like to fit a 6 point cage
Pair of bucket seats and harnesses
4 pot calipers
Fit the braided brake hoses and renew brake fluid
Sell the Koni suspension and fit coilovers
Switch jobs to start selling renault parts so that i can afford a car collection like Mikes . . . .
Fit the my new t28 and a few other new bits, set it up for 22psi, then fix it when it breaks!
Ohh and get my windscreen surround sorted before it gets to new panal time!
I would have loved to take it to the ring but I don't think it will happen, not this year anyway
Firstly send out all the goods folks have bought from me...now i have some printer ink......
secondly get the "coupe" finished to a high standard and visit as many places in my circuit guide as possible......
Thirdly, take the phase 1 and put all the bits ive colleccted over the years put them on..inc one of the sets of side decals and make her mint...
Lastly...obtain a car...of which is happening that suits...and go hillclimbing too this year.

My weekends are screwed, but hopefully it'll be worth it by the summer.
To get the bloody thing running!
Plans are, keep the old trusty ph1 trudging along, and generally abuse it
Have as much fun in the "coupe" as i can and do as many trackdays as my wallet will allow
my 2010 plans (apart from diet)
Get 21 into a position to be a daily driver.
Also with the help of Marky and GTnutter get my clio on the road.
finish it and then sell it to paul (hydrotech78)
sell the 5 (too many toys)
align the f4r engine in the 11 (if I can find a bloody driveshaft) and get it running before summer
get the 9 sprayed and out of the workshop ready for the first
track day in march hopefully
i wont be owning a renault much longer if i get my way in 2010
You will regret selling her Alex.
i will regret it even more if i keep it, i went to wash the car today and theres an issue with the paint on the roof, and i aint got a clue how it got like that cause the car aint been on the road for the past few months so it aint seen the grit but i dont understand its been 2 years since ive had it sprayed! ive already agreed to sell the car to someone down the road from me who is also a member on here pending payment
time to go me thinks, ive had enough
