    Re: faulty lock mechanism

most problems start with a dropped door, then a smashed in peg in the door shut.. i've taken the drivers catches out of 2 of my 5's, one was shaggered and the other needed some jiggery pokery to make it line up again.. a bloody good clean and regrease helped...

You could try WD40 ing it, let it soak in for a little while and then attempt to open and close the door a couple times. I

If the door has dropped then open it slightly, grab hold of the bottom edge of it and bend the whole door upwards a little

Ive got the same problem, and passenger entry is a nightmare. i cleaned mine up, and it was ok for a day or so. got a spare to put on at the weekend.

Id say your better off getting one from ebay or on here as second hand. If they do a new one it will be expensive.

I asked for a price from Renault a few years back and they were £60 each +vat, never got round to doing anything about it, passenger side is now sticking so have to go through the boot now
