    Brake Servo & Master Cylinder

Can anyone confirm that there's only one servo for phase 2 GT turbo or GT turbos in general. I have PN R60 01 008 740 at £190 before VAT from renault. Parts guy got all oval plate no. with me saying there various servos! pretty sure i have the right no.

Also is the GSF master cylinder ok or even same as the Renault one. Renault want £90 before VAT for R77 01 205 094. GSF i think is £35. Don't want to cut corner on the brakes but thats a big difference.

perhaps not worded my original question so well....

has anyone used the master cylinder from GSF. it says its bendix / ate

also any thoughts on the servo? is there only one for the GT?

    .....

having now received both servo from Renault and master cylinder from GSF i can confirm servo is ATE and the GSF master cylinder is Bendix!

I got my master cyclinder from GSF, it was the bendix job, does the job perfectly.

Got my servo from Renault, was told there's only 1 servo for all the gtt's

Re: Brake Servo & Master Cylinder

There were three options for the servo, not sure how any have been discontinued.

having now received both servo from Renault and master cylinder from GSF i can confirm servo is ATE and the GSF master cylinder is Bendix!

Right finally got round to replacing the servo and master cylinder. The servo looks identical to the original and both new one from renault and original ATE.

Now the original master cylinder i would assume is ATE, the one supplied is bendix. This goes back to my original question are they compatible. The protruding boss with the hole in it on the master cylinder which recieves the piston from the servo is bigger in both OD and internal dia to the original item. Does this cause a problem? or have i been sent the wrong master cylinder? everything else about it looks the same. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it ok to use?

its the master cylinder i'm not sure about, the new servo which i have bought from renault is exactly the same as the original.

the bendix master cylinder from GSF is not indentical to the original one. all i want to know is are the compatible or am i worrying about nothing. its just brakes are one of those things not to cock up if you can help it.

I know Olly was good enough to reply above and used the bendix one but did you notice the difference or was yours identical?

cheers for the info, will go have a measure, so GSF could have sent the wrong one then

James, I noticed the cylinder part on the MS was a different size than the original when I bought it from GSF, however, it's been fine

Re: Brake Servo & Master Cylinder

right found out this much... the 19 / 21mm refers to the piston dia but thats internal so not something i can measure. the spec from ATE is 19,05 for the GT turbo, their PN is 03.2119-33893 which is ren 7701205094 and 4 other ren codes..
according to ATE also fitted to 205's.

to confuse it further euro car parts have 2 bendix items listed for GT turbo both M10 19,05 40mm but one costs £28 and one costs £40. can't see any difference. GSF just quote their PN and give same number for 205 and ren 5 gt turbo. so not sure what to do now

something niggles me about this, tempted to get one from renault and send this back to GSF are am i just being silly?

your right on that, GSF give same part code for both as well as matching 205, it also states on AX that 19 is stamped on the side of the casting. checked my one now and on the very end it has stamped 19 25 09, would assume thats the 19 i am looking for and other numbers a date code perhaps.

to add to this have called GSF to confirm what they believe the correct Bendix code is which is at least a match for the number on the box which is 131822B.

had the same thought, PM'd the holy one yesterday, not had a reply yet, be interesting to see what he knows.
