ill be buying my afr setup pretty soon so would like to know the ins and outs of what to do.

2nd stage can easily be cocked up as its fixed so be careful.
unless you go down the 'drill it out/helicoil and have removeable jetting' route
aim for 12.1-12.5 afrs on boost.
what boost you aiming for raj? 18lbs i take it......
yes mate, im aiming for around 18psi Max.
so, no guide to doing this?
not heard of the helicoiling method but sounds good to be able to remove the jets
question is,once the original jet has been removed, what jets are available to fit? where to buy etc?
i could possibly get a friend who is a prcision engineer to drill and tap/helicoil the original 2nd stage jet, so its just the jets that would be the problem.
im after some more info on the 2nd stage in general before i go faffing around with it.
This is a mod I will be tackling very soon too! Just getting the boss welded into the downpipe first.
After reading many threads on this I will be starting with a 1.2 2nd stage for around 18psi and seeing what afrs like on WOT.
This has made me think of a question.......If it runs lean would I drill the 2nd stage to 1.3? or get a bigger main jet? or smaller air corrector? same question applies for if it runs rich.
Raj pm james5 he knows all about the second stage.
Solex 32 Dis - 2nd stage drilling
Tools required
Remember if you do decide to fully drill out the 2nd stage non-removable jet, any mistake renders the carb pretty much scrap. I would personally just enlarge the non-removable jet to suit, and if this gets to big (over 1.4) then would consider drilling & tapping an a/c jet in place.
- Spare A/c jet is required,
- Tap - size M4 x .7
- Drill bit -size 3.3
- Drill bit size 4mm (This is used to enlarge the top part of the 2nd stage hole as the a/c jet is not threaded all the way up and bigger at the end).
- Small 3mm flat headed screwdriver,
- Drill with variable speed (Slow),
- Plenty of carb cleaner,
- A steady hand is also required.

thanks for that james
what size is the std 2nd stage jet?
i think ill go for drill the fixed jet if i mess up its on with removing it.
.05?
J, is there not enough room to squeeze a helicoil in there?
I've drilled mine out to 1.3mm but may go down that route.

Whilst this topic is up... I've read before about simply swapping the enrichment jet and a/c jet.
Has anyone tried this and what was the outcome?
The 2 jets are interchangeable but you don't want to touch the 1st stage jet.
If the 1st stage jet has been increased in size it will get to rich when you give it alot of throttle just before boost comes on. Some tuners used to swap the jets around with the a/c fecking cheap skates. Thus makeing the fuel curve horrible.
RESULT...I was just fishing about in my spares and completely forgot that I've got about 4 tubs worth of carb spares which I thought were junk...well...I only stumbled across a spare carb body with a removeable 2nd stage didnt I!...awesome
Ok, cheers James & Brigsy. I'll leave those well alone
You didnt ask, more so, come over
