    Re: National Day 2009!

Whilst I know it's a bigger risk for the club to spend so much money on a more expensive track, I'm sure people wouldn't mind paying more for tracktime, as £45 for a full day of open pit trackday is beyond cheap IMO.

    Re: National Day 2009!

Despite it being a risk, we don't have the funds in the accounts to even pay for the hire, nevermind insurance and security etc, that'd be nice lol

One of the great things about RTOC is that days like this are HEAVILY subsidised for the members, no subsidisation could happen at all if we were to pay for a day like that and it'd cost you all about 4/5 times what you've all recently been paying. The bargains RTOC is known for will be long gone

Speak for yourself!! by the time you put travel fuel on, track fuel and food and bits n bobs, your looking at a £200-250 for the weekend. I for one could not afford much more than what it cost me.

Fair comment, but I was talking just about the track time.

Oulton park for a similar day would cost around £200.

Won't be anywhere near that price for rtoc's trackday there in November

    Re: National Day 2009!

I hear what your saying Bric, and we'll present our options for the venue of ND 2010 to the members taking everything into account, so for example we'll say choose between Mallory at £50 per person, or Snetterton at £80, or Bedford at £70 etc.......but Matts point is very vaild as well, it is an expensive weekend for some even if they dont go on track

We've also got to consider the other aspects of the day/night. Mallory are so chilled out it's untrue! I dont think the bods at Silverstone for example would take too kindly to use burning their scaffloding boards at 5am on the campsite

You gonna bankroll it then Obi wan ?

2 x Mallory is going to cost around 18k and we only want one National Day don't we ?
We would be better off trying to sort a BIG trackday for the RTOC rather than exclusive hire .I know I'd do another Cadwell anytime .Perhaps we can have a word with TA-OL and sort a French day event .

    Re: National Day 2009!

2 Mallory days would dilute ND too much.
I fear that the Pod day slightly distracts from the specialness of ND, 2 days at Mallory defo would.
More bigger events are on the cards for next year thou, hopefully peeps will be a bit more financially secure by then

    Re: National Day 2009!

well, what can i say...finally back, all unpacked and sorted...LOL...yes, it took that long..

so, had a great time at nat day, Mallory was as always a simple but challenging track and the marshalls are very fair on whats classed as "fun" on track and whats dangerous, hats off to them again for letting us play..

did not realise how sunny it was till my head started peeling , LOL, my dad and brother came to watch and loved every minute so they're hoping to come to another meet or trackday soon..

cheers for laps I got in the R26R, TNT's mad 5 too....needs a bit more gear lever throw and your sorted Ross...

cheers too for the track etiquette...all seemed good on track and for the first time ever I enjoyed myself so much I never took a pic or even put my video camera in the car...shame,,,as I witnessed a few moment's...LOL...

thanks too for the comment's from the passenger's I took out...seems I have a cult following and an orderly queue now at trackday's...big smiles...always welcome..

ordered my DVD and pics from the day, but if anyone has anything of the old 9 ,on or off track I'd appreciate it...

roll on the next one....let's hope it's half as good, cheers to all who organised it all.
