    what cheap car?

im trying to think of a good solid reliable car for under £500?
i know it sounds alot to ask but surely there must be something out there for me to look at?
it must be an automatic as the mother will be driving it too,
and preferebly but not too important -the higher ride height the better but obviously not range rover high lol.

any ideas on what i can look for?

    Re: what cheap car?

Ive just bought a BMW E30 318i for £125... that was a bargain but it still would be a great car for £500

So my vote goes with a E30 BM

Vectra auto estate, much cheapness, practical and comfy, robust interior. Mine was reliable.

Otherwise, I agree with the others - Jap, although the older ones are a bit nasty on the inside still. A bit like that Primera I bought off you a few years back

Haha. Looms (scrappy). After I took out the speakers, mats, tax and battery. What a pikey. Got 50 quid for the rest

Never did sort the hesitation. Just ragged it constantly (for a year), somehow believing it would sort itself out that way Didn't break though either!

    Re: what cheap car?

    mazda 323 f?

i had one a few years ago, i took it offroading every night trying to kill it, span it into a ditch, ragged the arse off it every day and then took it for mot and it passed!!

it was the 1.6 16v 1992 one with pop up lights, cost me 4 old alloy wheels and i sold it on ebay for £200 when i was 'finished' with it

bmw's get my vote, ive had a couple of e34 525i and got a e30 325i, reliable, cheap on parts, maybe abit thirsty, but you could get a 520, or a 320, 318, i had an old 730i, was so comfy to drive, and was ok on track.... ish
