    any cyclists on the boards?

I used to be into dirt/jump biking, decided the other day its time to buy a new bike to save a few £££ on fuel , keep fit and have some fun in the sun.

I think im going to look for a hardtail jump bike such as the specialised p1's/p2s, i dont really want to spend mega bucks and i think ill be looking around £250 2nd hand for a good setup. just need to get some pennies together first.

I had a cannondale back in the day which had a small frame, big travel forks, dh bars and all the trick bits to make it into a dirt jumping, street bike. I spent a lot of yesterday looking for a new bike the dmrs look pretty sweet as do the new cannondale chase's. If your after second hand look on pinkbike or ridestreet.co.uk

i know someone selling a planet x, little audrey jump bike in camo effect frame. It a very good bike and selling due to working long hours and not having the time to use it. He wanted over 300 for it but would take 250 i think

This is what it has done to it:

    mrzocchi dirt jumper 3 forks
    Kane creek headset
    24/7 stem
    Planet X Bars
    Hope hydralic disc brakes
On one 3 piece crank with new bottom bracket
    dmr v8 pedals
    Planet X seat post
    Snafel seat
Hope skewers and seat post clamp
Single speed with dmr chain guide
Halo combat wheels with new gazza free ride tyres

Re: any cyclists on the boards?

I've bought two new bikes from www.evanscycles.com in the past brand new and I've been happy with what I've bought. My current bike is a Scott Scale 50 (2008) which is a hard tail but more suited for cross country use and road riding due to the frame's characteristics. If you are buying a jump bike I would be tempted to buy brand new one so you know it's safe and strong (i.e. no hairline cracks in the frame from the previous owner giving it some!)

my bro used to be into that, i remember he used to have an 'on one gimp' which had a bright pink frame!

silly money all that business... makes a funky turbo seem cheap compared to how much they'll spend on set of disc brakes or suspension forks
