    Re: Garrett turbo

It's a T3 put simply. The .63 a/r is pretty big too, in contrast, the stock Sierra Cosworths come with a .48 turbine, they use the .63 as a hybrid. A Comp wheel measurement would be good...

Adam i thought the .63 was from the T2 family, used on the bluebird?

    Re: Garrett turbo

I just typed out a paragraph of info on part number by garrett and whiped it off by accident, i'm not typing it out again. It has to do with the -3/4 numbers listed by Garrett for the Bentley model though, that's all i'll say

    T2/T25/T3 are all different categories. It's just a coincidence that T2 and T3 both have a .63 housing. If a turbo is plated as a TB03, it's T3. Just like a TB02 is a T2

    Re: Garrett turbo

Sorry, just another quick ad-on. I can't see the comp wheel being larger than a 60 trim (4x4 Cossie style), as that was the largest back in the day before they used the T34 spec.

    Re: Garrett turbo

It's funny how Bentley used Garrett up until then (using a T3 too) and swapped over to Borg Warner (KKK). Garrett can't cope with the work load apparently...

    Re: Garrett turbo

even with 2 of them that big T3 is going to have a 3.4L engine to play with, that's a lot of exhaust gas, hence the big housing. I can't imagine they ran a lot of boost, which makes even a 60 trim a little on the small side for top end power, but then I guess the Roller is all about torque.

What do you plan on using it on Raj? CC, boost

if he's 3L and looking for around 220-250hp it'll be OK, otherwise there are probably better choices.

    Re: Garrett turbo

while on the subject, can someone give me detail of a std t2 as fitted to the gtt.?
am i right or close in thinking .35 a/r and 45 comp..?

also, does the compressor housing come off when you remove the large circlip.?

and how exactly do i remove the circlip? i mean do i have to squeeze it or extend it?

    Re: Garrett turbo

It's a .48 comp housing. It's held on with a circlip, you need circlip plyers to remove it, and good ones. The housing just pops off once removed.

cheers adam, what type of circlip pliers? as i dont know if you have to squeeze the circlip or viceversa would a good set of 13"circlip pliers do the job like these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270278206876&ssPa geName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=017

    Re: Garrett turbo

You need to squeeze it to get it out, they can be a bit tricky on old turbo's some times.

Those ones look ok. A mate had to go out and pay £26 for a pair though just to get the casing off his old T2, as the cheap ones he tried broke.

The Bentleys ran a T3/T40B with a 70trim/58mm in. comp wheel

.63 T3 turbine, stage 3, external wastegate IIRC.
