The server has done this once before, once at the very start, MySQL stops working for no aparant reason, I need to look into why it's done this.

No, I don't. Linux all the way for me, but, thats what we have so thats what I have to work with.
Anyway, mysql stopped responding and would not restart, a full reboot sorted it out.
