    230bhp

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1991-RENAULT-5...3A1%7C294%3A50

Does this belong to anyone on here? I was just wondering if I added a few more shiny cosmetic things to my engine would I also make 230bhp as I too have a KTR230 turbo fitted...

    Re: 230bhp

If you believe RR shpiel, I've hit 230hp+ with a strapped & flowed o.e intercooler in situ. Likewise, running several 13sec' passes @ Pod too.

I've mentioned many a time that the o.e intercooler is v efficient, and certainly a lot better (read charge temp o/p & pressure drop through the core wise) than some of the aftermarket alloy sh1te out there.

Its just had a K-tec rebuild with needless "uprated" internals nothing more and a T25 turbo. It does look like a nice clean car though.

    auction has finnished 1.8k.......

    but been relisted lol
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=200344131978

    says alot

also has that even got a t25? looks more like a t2

and more to the point if its been rebuilt like hes said, why the rusty rocker cover, and the turbo looks old/rusty like they do.. so if ktec did this work surely there would have been a rebuilt turbo and a decent cover, i mean if i spent all that money on the car i wouldnt have the turbo and rovker cover looking crap like that

Dreamers......make me laugh, id love to strap both of these cars to a rolling road with the owners stood next to them and watch their reactions as they produced 160-180bhp.

I'm guessing by the adds neither would except the result and say the rollers were out.

Stage 99 head and three helicoils, he makes it out as if its a good thing? Sounds mint and 314bhp, I might bid on it 314bhp not at that at the moment due to being to quick for the roads

The thing that gets me majority of people selling these cars are claiming k-tec rebuilds with big power claims but none of them know anything about the parts which have been used surely you would know what had been done not just a "rebuild"

    Re: 230bhp

dunno but hes dam right fooking rude, asking for a friend of mine this is the qestion

hi im realy intrested in the car but 230bhp from a t25 on a c1j is a bit hopefull, maybe 170..

is there any proof of them bhp figures? or just what good old k-tec said,, any how, whats been been done internally to handle this boost level and bhp?
    cheers

    with a reply of

hello there i'm fed up with people like yourselves asking me questions like this saying its not true i'm just going on wot i was told and paid for with k-tec racing i've been told by numerous people that my car was on forums and people slagging me off i'm not interested in your opinion, i'm not ripping anyone off i'm taking a big loss on this car as ive just been made redundant so please dont message me again unless u r serious about buying the car many thanks paul

    so i put

well thanks for your snottyness, i was simply asking, well your loss i got my eye on another gtt, sorry to been a inconvenince to yourself, no wonder why it didnt sell with atttude like that
sorry but i aint no messer, i want a clean gtt to get on with , thus why i emailed you, do you think id take the time to write you a email to satisfy myself over what ever your on about, thing is 230 is alot from a c1j engine which is why i ask mate, but now i cant be arsed, good riddens to the car tbh. just remeber when you sleep to night how you lost out on a 2.5k offer

    and he delighfully replied
i'm not bothered about u and your money id rather sell to someone genuine nice remarks thou, and i would have u find this is a nice looking renault 5 and not any tat, and as ive told u b4 ktec told me when fully boosted up it would b 230 bhp im just saying wot ive been told u moron

    then my reply

i genuily "was" intrested, and i told you i wasnt looking for scrap thus why i emailed you, as i was intrested, but now your calling me a moron, apsolute pratt you are mate, ive never come acoross someone as rude as you, i emailed you with a genuine qestion, and i get that reply, then tell you im serious but youve wasted your chance and now im a moron, nice...

i think with a defencive remarks when my qestion was a simple one then i steer away from people like that

shame tho as my mate quite liked it

    but i want it

Why the F*CK are you lot baiting this kid?

Is it not obvious that he's a youngster (much like alot of you might I add) with a bit of money and who isnt technically minded. And dont go giving me any backchat, we've all been there, I know I have.

Ok, it's funny that he believes his cars pushing out what he's been told by a tuner.... should we not as a club be educating rather than humiliating? And on a side note, I think this club should have been asking the big tuners to back up their claims years ago personally..

R5GTTRaider... not to pick on you, but before you go joining the witch hunt, have I not seen you asking some very basic questions about dump valves etc since you joined?

imo its a very genuine and fair question gttraider asked, if i was looking to spend money on this car id ask the same question as im sure alot of you would.
i like the car it looks tidy and if i didnt just buy mine id be interested, however with a reply like that id be so pi$$ed off, i mean cmon "i'm fed up with people like yourselves asking me questions like this"
wtf its a fair question nothing insolting about it!

If he is genuine and just going by what he's been told then i feel sorry for him and i agree that these companies shouldn't be getting away with that the sad thing is i would have probably fallen into the same trap had i not read the comments from you guy's because at this moment in time i am new to the gtt scene i've had them in the past but never bothered about tuning so for novices like me this is relevant

sorry tim?yes i have, i dont know everything, tho i like to think i do (jokes)
what i know is what i know, im no engineer but im not a complete tard, and do know my way around cars, turbos are a new depth and never had to own one, very diffrent to looking at one or been a passenger....
any how. im not arguing just defending my corner

    any way
it was a apsolute genuine qestion for a friend of mine, which, when i saw this the first time i told him, i then showed him it and asked me to find out more, then was confronted with that bollox

and before i dont even get on the band wagon it wasnt to slag him off, if i did id say something like,

you know u wasted all your money paying ktec to apparntly make 230....fool

any way i iz bidding up on this any who highest bidder, woo get to ride in a nice r5 if he wins it, tho hes budget is top secret lol

It wouldn't be the first time someone has over-inflated their power figure, and for sure it won't be the last time.

For what it's worth, you can achieve 230hp from a T25 of the correct spec with supporting mod's. However, just saying 'T25' on its own has no merit, and doesn't really back up the point (if there was one in the first place?) that you were trying to make.

**** this, I wont be renewing this year.
    Hello Tim.
To be fair the lad did ask a fair question to which he did get a sh1tty response. You are right though, we have all been there. K-tec have 5k of my money so I definately have!

What I dont understand is that now it has been pointed out to the guy (numerous times) that he is wrong, why he insists on false advertising still?? He is purposly trying to con the innocent, naive public now.

I wish I had joined this club before I went to K-tec, while they did an excellent job I paid a lot of money for parts that basically were not required. This is where people like you come in Tim, you have a lot of knowledge about these cars whcih you have gladly shared so it would be a shame if you decided to not renew your membership. I am in the process of getting mine back on the road so im sure I will be bugging you and others quite a few times over the next few weeks. If all the "old hands" go then the likes of K-tec will just get a lot richer.
