This is how it was before
This is how it is now.
I just need to bring the back down a fraction then is will be as low on the 15's as it was on the 13s.
What do you guys think?

Low is good.. I'm sure Spooky will agree.
Looks good You have a good taste in wheels. What wheels are they?
That looks incredibly low but damn nice. Doesnt look like a lot of clearence on the front bumper
Not low enough Tom
that looks sweet
show us da camber
Niiiiiiiiice
Tom, have you slipped coilovers on her now then ?
thats the sheet!
That looks sick And the phase 1 bumper finishes it nicely.
How low is it on 13's
I'm runing 2 degees neg camber on the front
Yep thanks to GTT nutter i now have some coilovers
On 13's the subframe would be on the floor.
I did have it about an inch lower than the pictures if im honest, but had to lift it alittle.
Thanks for all the nice comments,Going to fit adjustable rears on Monday or Tuesday to get the back lower.
Do i take the crown for being the lowest R5 yet?
i may drop mine abit more now after seein that!!!!! like the rims.
Mine were as low as that in 05 Does your rear axle knock off the rear chassis rail when you hit a bump?
At one point i had mine lower at the front, the coilovers were bottomed out & i ground the subframe out pulling it off a kerb!
I've ran mine silly low for a very long time
The lowest it has ever been was when I drove it to FCS/ND in 2007, on the 13s it was catching EVERYWHERE.
The funniest moment being sat on a ramp at Wicksteed Park with a huge queue of cars behind me, making my passenger get out and lift the front of the car to help me clear it
I planned to drop the car further but I'm concerned about the distance my driveshafts are from the inner chassis legs, I've lowered it before where it'd be about an 1in away before striking the chassis
I think having shorter stroke suspension, firmer springs, poly'd lower arms etc etc need to be considered when going this low because the car simply isn't designed for it.
Well that's what I think
LOWER IT MORE!
thats awesome
My chassis legs are now modded due to the driveshafts hitting them.
I'll ge the back lower next week and put pictures up here.
I liking this as a lowered R5 thread.
Anyone have pictures of the red one that used to be on the home page.
The lower it goes the more dangerous it is IMO, they bloomin bounce all over the place & catch all the ruts etc, never understood why you all like them that low, they can't be nice to drive, skittish as fook i'd have thought
if you aint scrubbing...... you aint dubbin. oh hang on, renaulting??

That car is so sweet I love it.
it does look damn good when its low, but if you guys are happy with the inconvenience it brings then fair play, mines aint even that low and it catches on most things, i may even have it raised to standard height sometime in the not too distant.........
Would you say the drawbacks outweight the positives? At the mo my ride is pretty comfortable at only 30mm drop ~ but cornering it could be a lot better, so im thinking drop it on coilovers 50mm etc. It looks better and handles better but the ride is harsher. Guess I will have to see for myself
I've had to do the opposite! 15s and R888 scrub a fair bit so I have raised it back up, and have very limited negative camber adjustment available as the inner tyre wall sits VERY close to the coilover spring platform, and there is no room for spacers! To compound the problem the MOT tester failed the car as on full lock the tyres touch the inner wheel arch ! Gutted! Still I want handling not just looks... Horses for courses.
Looks awsome Tom im liking the wheels too
Looks great mate
This is my old 5, she was on the deck. Cant find a side pic of her though. Cornering was a bit skitish, there was no body role at all so tended to skip a bit.
